Bidra med feedbackWe stopped by Thai Hotspot on a recommendation of a friend and had a great meal at a great price. Thai food is one of my favorites and Thai Hotspot has very authentic cuisine compared to some of the other Thai places around the area, although they serve some Malaysian and Singaporian dishes as well. We were lucky enough to have an older gentleman with us who had spent significant time in Malaysia and Singapore many years ago and he enjoyed his Tiger beer, Singapore Noodles and Tom Yum soup very much. The scallops, beef short ribs, Pandan chicken and fried Tofu were excellent and all eaten quickly by myself and my wife. My favorite dish was the only one I cannot remember the name of, but it was placed in a bowl of lettuce and the cool and crunchy lettuce in contrast with the spicy contents was excellent. We will definitely go again.
We just moved to Oshawa from Whitby and were looking for a good Thai place to replace Odine. Thai Hotspot is just down the street from us so we decided to give it a try.The Thai spring rolls are actually closer to Vietnamese fried spring rolls but were very good - the best thing we ordered and we've ordered them (and only them) again since. The green chicken curry was ok but somewhat bland and tasted watered down. I don't remember which fried rice we ordered but it was decent - nothing special or memorable. We were really looking forward to the coco peanut chicken as we've been trying to find something similar to the dish we first had at Asian Delight in Ajax (which has since closed down) but this dish was a let down. All in all, the food was disappointing and we won't be back again - unless we're ordering only the spring rolls! The search for a good Thai place in Oshawa continues!
We had Thai hot spot. One of my favorite guilty pleasures. Had my mother and sister for an impromptu dinner and we all ordered our Thai favorites. Pineapple Chicken and rice and Green Chick Curry. Delicious and so much food I could bring some for lunch the next day to work.
Great selection of wonderful dishes, and no...not everything is spicy! Have visited many times, and will continue to do so.
This is a somewhat informal place for casual lunch or dinner. They serve dim sum lunches on weekends until 3:00 pm. Good selection of dishes. Make sure to try the barbecued beef, excellent! Very good cashew chicken, satay chicken, and many other. You can pick a vegetarian version or other meat.
