Family Wok - Oshawa

Delicious Chinese cuisine! Family Wok offers unique and flavorful variations of traditional dishes that stand out from the usual fare. Their generous portion sizes and fair prices make it a great value. We are from Courtice, but Family Wok has become our new favorite spot for Chinese food. I highly recommend trying their Hot Sour soup, it's my personal favorite. You won't be disappointed!

The portions at this restaurant are generous and the prices are reasonable! The pork lo mein was tasty and the beef and vegetables dish was also delicious.

We ordered from Family Wok the same meal that we have ordered many times before. However, this time they changed their containers. We ordered the dinner for 3 people, but this time there was not enough food to feed 3 people. We usually have leftovers, but not this time. I compared the new container to the old ones we have received in the past, and the new ones are significantly smaller. When I called the restaurant to discuss this issue, they denied that the containers were smaller. When I mentioned that I had measured them, they hung up on me. I just want to let people know that you will be receiving less food for your money.

I am a resident of Oshawa for 37 years. The reviews of this place that are negative...IGNORE THEM!! Really. I am very picky about what I feed to my family, and myself, and can honestly say... THE *FOOD HERE WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST I 'VE HAD IN OSHAWA FOR YEARS! I am of Italian heritage, and we know food. I DON 'T buy take out as a general rule, being able to cook quite well. Chinese food, whether Canadian or authentic, I can 't cook, and ALWAYS SPLUGE FOR it to be delivered. Tonight I was so pleased with the quality, taste, and freshness of the food...I just couldn 't resist to comment, as well as calling back the owner to tell them how happy I genuinely was. The staff who placed my order, and the person who delivered it-VERY VERY NICE, and willing to please their customer! I ordered their sweet and sour platter-DELICIOUS! The egg rolls-perfectly cooked! The won ton soup-very flavourful! The plain lo mein was so tasty, nobody realized it contained no meat until I mentioned it! Their Pad Thai- was PERFECTLY SEASONED, and not too spicy that my kids wouldn 't eat it. Deep fried shrimps-FRESH AND DELICIOUS, as well as the pork ribs! The rice-was NICE!..even the simplest thing..sweet and sour sauce WAS THE BOMB! Even my 28 year old daughter, who always wants a combo dinner to escape up to her bedroom to eat in peace away from her other siblings, came running downstairs to see if there was anymore Pad Thai left AFTER DEVOURING her entire C2!..lol. This is the first time I have ordered from the Family Wok...and it certainly won 't be the last! I have bought my Chinese food on a regular basis from the Hong Kong House on Simcoe St. S. for over 33 years, and as soon as the owner changed, the place really took a turn for the worse. A new beginning here for my family and myself has begun, and I couldn 't be more satisfied : . Usually we do have leftover from Chinese delivery..NOT TONIGHT! Everything got gobbled, right down to the dry chow mein noodles and fortune cookies! Even the cookies were great...mine said You will enjoy a wonderful evening ..lol..and I DID! Thank you Family Wok! You made our night, and no dishes OR complaints!..a truly WONDERFUL night indeed! *Large portions AND economically priced!

This has to be the worst ever restaurant in Oshawa. I am astounded that it has not been shut down yet.......from the dirty tiled floors with visible mould on the walls......the food is inedible and every dish tastes the same, The rice does not even look like rice. I'm shocked that this place is still open for business.
