Gourmet Kitchen Chinese - Oroville

Delicious food. Nice people. We got honey walnut chicken which was super crispy and juicy. Mapo tofu was nice and spicy. The stand out was the spicy wonton appetizer. Good heat to the sauce and tasty filling.

It was not a good experience. The person serving us told us he closed soon. He closed at 8pm it was 6:30. He then said we need to order soon. We asked for the special. He said, I think there is only one. We said okay can you check if there is two. He came back with two specials very small plates. We got one ship, and about four pieces of chicken. Small pieces. The food was very greasy. I picked up my plate and put a spoon under one side of the plate to drain the grease. It was cold. And we were rushed. It cost over 44$ .. with no drinks. Way too much. Not a good experience for my auntie or myself. We will not go back.

Had a great tasting meal with excellent service. Family enjoys the cuisine, I just tolerate it. Like a bit more spice and not so much filler.

I ended up getting from here two days in a row. The establishment is very lovely, and the food is delicious and exotic, though the Chicken Cashew dish was a bit too salty, but calling it authentic Chinese is a stretch. They have some good lunch specials, but at least if you do takeout, they put more chow mein in your box then meat. And the meat ratio you get when you eat in, isn 't much higher. Speaking of meat, I think it 's stupid that you can 't customize your order. If you want a certain kind of meat, the management decides whether you 're having rice or chow mein with it. This is the biggest reason it 's not getting 5 stars.

The place is AMAZING! It's always quiet and hardly anyone in there but it is litteraly the best Chinease food we have ever had. The food comes out quick and fresh and the meat is so moist and delicious! The noodles are the thicker kind that are sooo good! It's a mom and pop place that deserves recognition! It might be off putting when you walk in because it's empty and quiet but you will not regret getting food here! Absolutely recomend 10/10 for sure! Tell your friends because we cannot lose this place!
