Whistlestop - Ormeau Hills

Three of us were clearly ignored when they didn't bring our ordered items after 45 minutes without any communication. They just glanced at my daughter and walked away. I followed them immediately because I knew she was upset. They hadn't even started preparing the order yet. When my husband and I finished our meal, they finally showed up. I expressed my disappointment, but they just apologized for the inconvenience in a cold manner. This was a different waitress from before, but unfortunately, the two waiters we encountered had poor communication skills just like the others.

My partner and I visited Whistlestop for breakfast on Saturday, October 22nd. We placed our order on the website at 10:30 using a QR code on our table. Unfortunately, our drinks didn't arrive until 11:05, and nobody came to our table to check on us during the wait. We were quite thirsty after waiting over 30 minutes for two small, warm milkshakes. When our breakfast finally arrived, my sweet pancakes were disappointingly thin, resembling McDonald's hotcakes. My partner ordered the "big break" but we weren't given the option on the QR code to choose how the eggs were cooked, even though the menu stated "2 eggs your way." The fried eggs were overcooked and tough, the cheese cransky was cold, and the baked beans seemed to be from a can and were too oily. Additionally, there were a lot of flies in the restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Whistlestop to everyone. Breakfast at McDonald's would be a better and more affordable option.

We visited this restaurant on a rainy day and enjoyed a delicious lunch. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but we were happy we stopped by. It's a great place to grab a satisfying meal and take a leisurely stroll around Yungaburra.

Beautiful authentic place, slightly different from the typical Gold Coast restaurant experience. Bountiful outdoor seating for wonderful days and absolutely delicious food. We split five different appetizers between three of us and they were all amazing. The atmosphere is rustic in the best... way!

The cook/chef is amazing sends ot the best meals whether its a wrap, eggs bene or a breakfast platter they all look and taste fantastic. Good coffee and staff,
