Cedar Valley - Orleans

On a recent trip to ottawa we have stopped for a few chicken-shawarma plates based on their great reviews. the owners were so friendly, and the food was so good, we went back the following evening to try their beef-shawarma. they were again very welcoming and the bark was also fabulous.

I love Lebanese foods and usually get them from the same or two local spots. with that said I have no loyalty to both, but stepped out of my element and tried something new. I'm almost embarrassed to say it was my first time in the cedar valley! let me start with it. it was delicious! I was greeted by sam and george, who mentioned that it was a family business that had begun 21 years ago. after tasting their food, I now know why they have been a staple food in the neighbourhood for so long. the portion was huge, is an understatement. how huge? I ordered extra meat, and sam had to use scotch tape in the effort to close the lid (partly closing the lid I should say)?. everything was so fresh and delicious. the pickles and armchairs were crispy, the rice was fluffy, the kartoffels had a hauch of heat and the huh was juicy with little, without too grimzzle or fat (only the perfect amount for taste). soouo good! I didn't find it hard like most of the Shawarma positions I tried. I also added donair meat with sweeter sauce. amazing! if they are in the neighbourhood, or not in the neighbourhood they get their back to cedar valley restaurant for some kicks Lebanese eat!

The service at this restaurant was fantastic, the portions were generous, and the food was delicious!
