Bidra med feedbackIf they want to go to gideon, make sure they get there early! this place always has a long line. we waited for 40 minutes for cookies. their cookies are good, but not as good as I expected.
Great marketing, the staff outside are dressed like someone from the Matrix/ Pirates of the Caribbean. Inside is like an inside in to Tim Burton's mind. Cookies/ cakes, all huge and unique. Very interesting place.
A relative brought me a couple Gideon's Cookies from the East End Market location; while I'd love to see the quirky bakery in person, the loss of atmosphere didn't dampen the flavor of these confections even a granule.I say granule specifically because you can taste every single crystal of sugar (brown, I suspect) in these giant cookies. Nearly as thick as a muffin-top and as wide as a small plate, each cookie provides a wave of vanilla, cocoa, and syrup nirvana for your sweet tooth. Rich chocolate chips plunge your taste buds into a salty-sweet melting pot, with ooey-gooey cookie dough wrapping the flavor in creamy-soft texture. The limited-edition Coconut Caramel takes the traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie up a notch with toasted coconut shavings, giving the flavor a toffee-like edge of fire-browned sweetness. Brightened with coarse sea salt, these cookies are delicious enough to win over even a hardened coconut-hater like me! (One piece of advice: eat these same-day, as the coconut pieces lose their crunchy texture overnight!)I've added Gideon's Bakehouse in the East End Market to my upcoming weekend eats plans, and I'm looking forward to seeing the location in person. In the meantime, these cookies are large enough (and decadent enough) to share, and I'm savoring the leftovers all weekend long!
I know people rave about these cookies but my husband and I did not like the original chocolate chip cookie we shared. All we tasted was big pieces of poor quality chocolate chips. Mixed in with the chips was a little bit of soggy dough. We both like either soft or hard chocolate chip cookies but the cookie part was tasteless and minimal. On the outside was either sea salt or sugar crystals giving the cookie an awful texture. We ate about half and threw the rest away. We really wanted to like these massive cookies.
Why wait in line st Springs. This is a much different experience in a small stall at a small food mall. Very friendly and quick. If you want more than six cookies you must call ahead. Deliciousness in every bite.
