Bidra med feedbackWe had a meal at The Hollywood Brown Derby as part of the Fantasmic evening show package. Not only did we have a great meal, but we had excellent seats for the show later in the evening. We had Fillet Mignon which was incredibly tender and grilled to perfection! It is was a great place to come and cool down on a hot day with high ceilings so you don't feel like you are sitting so close to nearby guests. I would highly recommend this ticket package and making reservations.
So disappointing and the only restaurant choice we regretted. The food is of better quality as compared across the Disney offering, but is grossly over priced. We were constantly rushed throughout and were unable to have a relaxed experience. The waiter was quick to take our plates away but was no where to be seen when we needed cutlery to start our meals. We did the Fantasmic dinner package at $75 each which was not worth the cost. When I asked the waiter to repeat how the package worked he got annoyed with me which was ridiculous behaviour. Overall I found this venue to be pretentious to the point it felt like they were doing us a favour. We much preferred our visit to Disney's Calfornia Grill, which was comparable in price but far superior for service, taste and atmosphere.
We made reservations months ago for this restaurant to celebrate my 70th birthday. My wife and I had eaten there several years ago, and although not a top five experience then (I had to cook my undercooked steak piece by piece over the table candle), I though we might take another stab at it. We had reservations at 7:10 and were finally seated at 7:55. It was clear that the staff was busy because they were in a big hurry to seat us with nary a smile on her face. It took another ten minutes to get a menu and for her to take our drink order. One thing we noticed right away was how loud it was. We sat next to each other, not across, and we could not hear each other. We simply could not make up our minds what we wanted and quite honestly we were not in hurry much to the chagrin of our server. She came back three more times, grumpier at each visit. Finally, we decided to leave. Never had a chance to eat. Very loud, discourteous servers. Can't vouch for the food. One more thing. This is THE Brown Derby, correct? Why is it that only have ONE steak on the menu? What the heck?!
Really good filet mignon and should be for $49. Their famous salad shouldn't be...no lettuce other than tiny shreds of kale or something and boring vinegar dressing. Sauteed mushrooms add on looks good, but rubbery and lacking in flavor. Liked the two scallops for $12. Big open dining area is overcrowded...ask for a booth or a table off to the sides.
The Cobb salad and Grapefruit cake is what I come here for. They have a mushroom appetizer that we tried for the first time and would definitely get again. The creme brulee was really good. Wasn't expecting that..Food: 4/5
