I haven't been to this place since 2014. And now I remember why. Food prices are very high end with very low end quality. I have to absolutely draw a line on service when the server sits down across from you to take your order. Then complain she doesn't want to get up. I felt like a bad person making this poor person work so hard to take my order. I actually wanted to cancel the order and leave. Everyone has a rough day. If you can't do the job then address that issue. I had a cup of fruit and a plain bagel with cream cheese and a hot chocolate. Bagel: Hard Cream cheese: Didn't quite smell good. Fruit cup: Maybe 3/4 of a cup of fruit. Melon was not quite ripe. Strawberries had a chemical taste to them. Hot Chocolate: Luke warm. And very sweet. Way too much sugar in whatever packaged product they are using. I traveled to Orland to empty a storage unit I have had since 2014. I was tired, hungry, and exhausted. All I wanted was a small quiet breakfast of reasonable quality. Instead I didn't get lunch or dinner in favor of just driving straight home. Parking: If this place was of better service and higher quality of food parking would be difficult. As it is there was plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: I bit difficult to manage. Horrible experience at this place. The waitress sat down across from me. Complained about how tired she was. Then she took my order. Brought the food, brought the tab, never came back to actually check if I wanted anything else. I actually needed a Togo box for my bagel. So I wrapped it up in a napkin. Food was not fresh. The cream cheese tasted off. Fruit cup was sparse and had more bananas than anything else. I am not a fan of bananas. When I addressed the issues at the check out the person shrugged her shoulders and said, Sorry! The prices were outrageous for the quality of service, quality of food, and lack of follow through. Good food the California burger was good, I bet the BLTA would be good. Very friendly staff and it looks like the local people really like it. Nice to see hometown good ole cafe!
