China Town - Orangeburg

Excellent chinese shrimp fried rice. Not greasy or overcooked. The chicken was good and hot.

The fried rice is consistently excellent here. I tried the boneless chicken for the first time, and while it was decent, I noticed that unlike other Chinese restaurants, they included only a small amount of meat with the bones, and I wasn't a fan of the flour coating on the chicken. However, I really appreciated the lightly cooked broccoli and carrots—it's been ages since I've seen those at a restaurant, reminiscent of the China Garden in Oburg back in 1993. I always order an extra cup of gravy, but this time I received brown gravy instead of the usual yellow that most Chinese places serve. They also forgot my sweet tea, which meant the delivery had to be sent back. The woman who answers the phone often has a bit of an attitude, too. If they focused a bit more on the orders and were a little friendlier, take-out could be smoother. If you do get delivery, make sure to inform your driver of your order to avoid any extra trips! Just saying.

I really loved the chicken soup, whether with noodles or rice. I would definitely go back to try some other dishes.

It's a cozy little spot that has become one of my favorites whenever I'm in Orangeburg.
