Bidra med feedbackOur meal began on an inexorable note when our server, mike informed us that our order of basilikum ziegenkäse ravioli was not available because the “Koch did not turn out like it.” my Romaine salad floated in the dressur and the speck, although generous was precooked. our meal improved with our entree, a generous part of the sea red salmon in a tangy lemon blanc sauce, perfectly cooked and embroidered with salmon. the garlic greens had a nice crunch and the soft bowl crawl was a perfect compliment to the salmon. an appetizer of ahi thunfisch (appointed as an entree) was overwhelmed by a sharp red pfeffers, but the taro root chips delivered a beautiful contrast. a soft and chewing...read more

Wonderful night outside. my wife and I tried flatiron for the first last night. we traditionally do not go out to the actual celebrations (i.e. Valentine's Day) but treat us a nice dinner on the day or two before or after and then spend a quiet evening at home on the day of the holiday that was just such a start. we went on Wednesday night and there was only one handful of tables. we were greeted at the door and our jacken taken (a nice little touch.) we sat, the chair of my wife pulled out for them (before I could do it and her serviette placed on her bosom such classic but not overbid look at the place. the service was excellent. water is frequently removed....read more
Down from the previous years. the waiter was annoying, the martini served without garnish, 10 minutes to roll a few olives on a teller, I think we should pick them up and drop them after one in our drink. all eating was lacking taste. the Caesar salad was a little pale hearts of romaine with half burned raw slices of speck and no anchovies....for a $3 above charge over the house salad do not disturb! the lobster was so overcooked, we couldn't even get him out of the bowl with a steak knife! all in all, not even near the $60 per person. that's my last visit.
All in all, this place was good...just shy of excellent. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. She suggested a shrimp appetizer that turned out to be very good. The food was delicious despite being slightly over done, which based in other reviews is a common theme. The layout of the restaurant provides a unique experience, since the building sits on a non-standard intersection. Think of an A-frame house on its side. Lots of windows, and great views. The manager's joke of we got you a great window seat got a bit tired though The prices were a bit higher than warranted. The wine was good, the food was delicious, service was good. We...read more
