Bidra med feedbackWe decided to have a despedida dinner for our workmate, and one suggested to try Soul Potato here at Pioneer St. Market. At first we weren't able to find their stall inside the place, but their logo and kitchen presentation were very catching to the eyes. Looking at their menu, I thought there's nothing really different, and I guess it'll taste like all the other food I've tried before. As we approached the stall, the staff (I feel bad I forgot to ask their names, but I guess they are the owners) gave us a free taste of their mashed potatoes, and it was very good. We were seven people, and we made sure we try everything on the menu--literally. We ordered almost all of the food that's available for us to be able to taste everything. And I must say, it didn't disappoint! The servings were more than enough, the price was very affordable, and the food itself was very delicious. My fave was the Shepherds Pie, it was flavorful, plus it had mozzarella cheese! I also like to commend their raspberry iced tea, it was very refreshing. Their mashed potatoes was just very yummy and creamy. The Soul Potato Mashed Sausage pizza was also surprising, the ingredients really complimented each other. For the dessert, we had Maple Waffle a la mode, and it was one of the best I've tried. It didn't taste too sweet, and the waffle was soft and moist. Every menu had a different twist on it, and it tasted very unique. Too bad we weren't able to finish everything because it was way too many. Adding to that, the staff were very accommodating, the girl (who took our orders) answered all our concerns, including the ingredients of the menu. She really knows how to run her business. Be going back, definitely. Very good dining experience. Thanks for the discount!
Another good find in Pioneer Street Market. We just ordered the Southern Chicken Tenders with freshly made mashed potatoes and a flavorful gravy. The chicken tenders were juicy and tasted good with the gravy.
Soul Potato specializes in international comfort food focusing mainly on their mashed potatoes. They offer various traditional potato dishes with their own style and twist! The idea of selling different types of potato dishes was concocted by two good friends (Chef Juno Ang and Matet De Leon) and they now have two branches with more coming soon! for the full story on pioneer street market and the recent event. please visit my blog.
If you are heading to TV5 or Pioneer in Mandalauyong, be sure to visit the Pioneer Street Market. An indoor farmers market food hall where they showcase different type of cuisine. For me, a must try is their Shepherd's Pie. The serving was good.
A lot of these food clusters have emerged in the last 3 yrs re shaping the landscape of the metro foodscene. This hype has enabled affluent new entrepreneurs to provide wider choices establish hip, fab concepts while optimizing their business acumen. Soul Potato is a testament to this revolution. Owned managed by known couple Chef Mikee Estrada Matet de Leon (Of course we remember her from her childstar days), Soul Potato has interestingly established a solid fanbase by bringing to life self versions of comfort food. To date, I 'd say they proudly maintain arguably the best ultimate Shepherd 's pie in the metro! I tell you, they take their potatoes seriously. For P150, you get served carbo loaded heaven in a baking pan. Picture this... creamy mashed potatoes under a bed of tender juicy Australian ground beef w/ snippets of carrots peas beneath a blanket of gooey cheese a 2nd spread of creamy mashed P 's... crazy delectable! We also sampled on their Crispy chicken melt (P170) and certainly loved the approach of putting a twist to on a regular chicken parmigiana dish. Meat was tender inside despite its crunchy nature was well seasoned. The gooey chees was a perfect compliment drive home the point. The Country fried pork w/ mushroom gravy (P170) was also a hit. Pork was succulent was likewise seasoned well amplified by the peppery gravy those plump shrooms. I had my eyes on their Chicken Fajita bowl Southern chicken tenders but was too stuffed to take on more so willtackle these on my return...for sure! I liked appreciated the welcoming staff, quite knowledgeable of the food they sell w/c helped us make the right choices. Ambience was conducive to passionate foodies although some stalls may need to fix up their exhausts. Overall, it 's genuine comfort food. Good pick!
