Le Rivage - Olivet

We had dinner at this restaurant, located in a very nice spot on the border of Loiret river near Orleans. The staff is generally friendly and seats/tables are nice. The restaurant suffers a bit on customer experience. The menu card contained about 6 items that have been corrected/deleted with a pen as these are not available/ replaced by other dishes. why not just print a new menu? . The wine list on the wall same thing: a wine we ordered was not there, why not just wipe the line and add a new one? No soap at the dispenser in the mens toilet. Food was ok-ish, although there were no side dishes like vegetables/salad. We had the lamb which definitely needed more spices. Same for the desserts, ok but we did expect more taste. White Cheverny was ok, the red wine was below expectations for 7 euro a glass. All and all bit disappointing experience in a restaurant that felt missing out the details.

This is the very first time I have felt it necessary to write a review. The main course was rib of beef the special of the evening at €70 for two there were 4 of us and all ordered the same. BOTH ribs were extremely tough and inedible we complained. The staff were entirely unhelpful and dismissive. We had to have a long discussion which only resulted in one refund even though we all left our meal. At the time we were not offered a different main course. . I will never return and hope others will be spared disappointment with both the restaurant and the hotel.

Courteous staff and exceptional restaurant. Exceeded expectations. Very relaxed. Beautifully presented and great wine list.

We stayed in the lovely Moulin St Julien nearby and they recommended this restaurant. Super lovely location overlooking the Loiret river. Dining outside on summers evenings. The food is very highly quality, the staff very good (and mainly speak English! . Didn't experience any of the negative aspects mentioned by other people we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Also visited again while travelling north back through France again had a lovely meal, probably even more enjoyable.

What a terrible disappointment for such a location. The rooms are very noisy late at night and the bathrooms very poor. The hotel appeared scruffy and uncared for. The food was sent back which was served at dinner as it was inedible. An unsatisfactory partial discount on the bill was eventually offered very reluctantly. We will not be gong back. This hotel being in this location could be so lovely sadly it is not.
