Holiday Inn Express Suites Olathe North, An Ihg

Only a 2 day stay. Room and overall building was clean. Nice indoor pool was inviting. Down stairs ice maker out of order. Third floor ice maker working. Hallway and lobby vary warm air-conditioning was not working. Inturn, breakfast was good but in a warm area. Orange juice was great on the first day. The dispenser was broken on the second day. Lots of maintenance issues are going on here. The location was awesome. Wide variety of restaurants within walking distance.

We were on our way to our son’s funeral and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Olathe KS North. This was our first time here and last…. Even tho the lobby looked amazing, whish makes you believe the room will be wonderful. In our case it was not so. Room-First thing we noticed was the fake leather headboard which had rips and you could see it was well worn to where you could see the wood underneath. The pillows seemed like they were filled with hay and the mattress was not comfortable. Bathroom-The fan in the bathroom was so loud which came on when the light was turned on. So anytime one of us went to use bathroom at night the fan would be so loud it woke up the other person. We noticed mold at the bathtub base. The shower curtain was almost falling off. The shower head was sooo low it was hard to get a good shower with having to bend down so far. The whole tub area had pits, chips, and broken. Breakfast- the hot bar, none of the lids stayed open and was very hard to hold your plate while keeping the lips open. If you hoped the lid would stay open it would slam down. We have pictures to document all this. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express all over the USA for travel and business, BUT never had this bad of experience. We did bring all this to the Manager on the way out and asked if the room are ever inspected and from our stay probably not. This review was posted to IHG site and not one follow up from them.

Main hotel lobby bathrooms were dirty and had no toilet paper. The outside had trash everywhere. The inside lobby was clean as was our room. Furniture was beat up and should have been replaced. Shower curtain rod kept falling, which allowed water to run all over the floor. The oven for the hot breakfast was broken. For the price, you would expect more.Rooms: Rooms were not up to normal expectations.

Nice area with great restaurants in the area. Room was clean and bed was great. Have stayed here several times and have had only positive experiences. Staff was nice and checkin was quick. Front desk answered questions about the area. Will stay here again

Property is old and outdated. Walls and carpet are dingy. Requested to extend my stay, was told they don’t “price match” the IHG site and I could go stay at the Hilton if I would like. EXACTLY what we did. Hotel is not worth the price paid and way below Holiday Inn standards we are use to. Would not recommend in this area as there are many other properties to choose from.
