Bidra med feedbackI've been looking for a good place to get fish and chips, and drove many times by Virg. I saw on their online menu that they rated high for fish and chips. I decided to try them. The place was pretty busy. Many records pass the checkout during my short waiting period. Piled with hash browns, ham and French toast, this is clearly a classic diner. My fish portions were well dimensioned, with probably the most crisp, and therefore best, coating I had. The fish itself was solid, but flaky, just as it should be. Below the fish was a large part of perpetrator sauces (also very crisp) and a generous part of the Coleslaw. The latter was creamy, fresh and tasty. I make my own tartar sauce, so I didn't try one of the two cups they gave me, and I used ketchup on the pommes instead of the two cups fry sauce. All in all I have the feeling I have found a good place to go when I desire this fried fish. Who knows, maybe I will try some other items on their plentiful menu. A strange place, but I see why people go there.
Great service and delicious food. The ordered breakfast and everything was just as I demanded. Hash Browns were crispy brown and perfect to suck the egg yolk. It took a while longer than expected for the order to make it on the table. My brother ordered the French dip and said it tasted like the original rib. I wasn't a big fan of iced tea, but add enough sugar and it wasn't too bad. A fun retro ambiance gives this diner five stars.
The food here is just what you want if you are tired, looking for a fancy brunching place or a crisp breakfast option. When you go to the Ogden virg's, you always have a place to sit and a hot meal that fills you up. You never have a bad food, but it will never be the best food you'll ever find. What is really about this place is the service. People here are so incredibly friendly and concise. You always keep your coffee full, your food comes out quickly, and you will always be with a smile on your face. The scenarios are fantastic, the eggs Benedikt is always on the square, and the Outlaw is a fantastic go-to for a classic breakfast with a ham steak. You can't go wrong here. My friend and I have become regular at this point, and for good reason. It feels like a hometown breakfast, and sometimes that's all you need.
This is a little mother and pop place. The food came out and the portions were HUGE. So many things to choose from the menu. I'll make sure to go back here to try something else.
We love Virg's in Ogden. Never had bad service. The food is always good especially the Special Burrito or The Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Hard to pick which one, can't finish either of them. You can share either of them with another person or have it as two meals.
