If the Europeans want to experience the life of a cowboy in the “old West”, they go to a feeder car BBBQ dinner in the usa. if the visitors want to experience the life of the Alsaceian viehherds, which brought the cowboys up into the mountain. during the summer months to graze, they travel to the voges to eat a Repas-Marcaire, a traditional farmhouse. the family deybach am ferme auberge du treh serves an excellent Repas-Marcaire at a reasonable price and the prospect of their restaurant are excellent (the many paragliders that start from the top of the mountain). the first cure is toured a la viande, a pig and calf cake included in a crusty and served with crudités. the main course is smoked pork shoulder with roigabrageldi (kartoffeln, brewed with twill and speck) and a green salate. the cheese course follows, and last comes the blueberry cake. beer and wein are available. make sure they are very hungry when they arrive, because this is an essential meal! our group (20 people) looked at our lunch in the ferme auberge du treh as one of the eating highlights of our two weeks in Alsace. but when we looked left over the edge, we saw the ferme auberge du treh below (see photo). drive them down the mountain and take the first left turn on an asphalted road that brings them to the ferme auberge du treh. bon appétit!
They had only one main menu, but the taste and the worth were good. many gloomy! the view of the terrace is amazing
On a recent to an old friend in Alsace, he took us to Le Vosges mountains and this quaint eatery. It is a beautiful location, with stunning views and the sound of tinkling cowbells. The interior of this establishment if beautiful all wood beamed...and lots of cowbells and farm related items used as décor. The welcome is warm and friendly. The menu is basically a choice of a hot or cold meal. The hot meal consists of a slice of warm pie served with shredded veg to start and the main is slices of boiled bacon, accompanied by a delicious glutinous potato concoction (apparently a traditional Alsace dish) and a green salad and plenty of all of it. The choice of desserts is wider can recommend the sorbets. This style of dining seems to speak to something in the French our friend and his mother are very excited about it but whilst I enjoyed the experience, I feel it's all a bit touristy and probably would not find another visit necessary. Definitely worth at least one visit though.
We were participating in a reunionen in Alsace and the hosts had arranged for us all to visit the Auberge du Treh to taste a typical lunch. Although it took a while for the bus to get us up the mountain to the inn ...it was absolutely worth it. The place is so authentic. It is way up a mountain about 1100 meters above sea level. The owners were extremely friendly and the service really good. Best of all was the food. It was just so tasty and there was so much of it. Our main course for lunch was the repas marcaire a typical dish from the area. Like so many dishes in Alsace there was lots of cheese, onions and potatoes. It 's a dish that is prepared in a copper couldron. The mix just melts in your mouth. Dessert was blueberry pie yummy. If you like what you eat it 's possible to buy the locally made cheese and other produce to take with you.
