Big City Grill Co. Ocala

By accident we stumbled across Big City Grill in Ocala. Being from Chicago our family enjoys mom and pop type restaurants. This restaurant has everything we could ask for. For starters they have a triple burger cheaper than the single Burger I get at 5 guys. Taking a closer look at the menu they have created a collection of all the big city's in the USA greatest foods. I had the Chicago Gyro, my kids ordered burgers and a Cuban sandwich. All our food was cooked to order by a dad and son team in the kitchen. Took under 5 minutes to get out food. Holy **** these guys have some good food!! The burgers were all 1/4 pound, mistakenly my daughter ordered a cheddar bacon burger and it was 1/2 a pound!! I helped her finish it, dang it was good, maybe one of the best burgers I've ever had.. that's saying something being a Chicago guy.. Restaurant was clean and the bathrooms spotless. My only criticism is too much food. Thank you Cooper for the great Gyro and burgers..

First time here, the guy was very helpful and got our food to us pretty quickly! Food was very good!

Only one person working there. The double burger, meal I ordered, was not cooked to order. The burgers were precooked, then heated on the stove. The fried chicken, in the wrap and the fries, never saw the fry basket, as all baskets were high and dry, above the fries oil. I watched the entire event. We are worried, after seeing that. Was all this precooked food held at proper temperatures. How long prior to us getting it was it cooked. I cannot say I have ever experienced this before. Our gut feeling, was the owner was trying to take shortcuts to speed up his ability to get food to people, as it got busy. (We and another couple were the only people there, when this was happening. The person working there seemed overwhelmed. My advise is to keep an eye on the food, as your order is started. Something was just not right about all of it. Meaning well and be polite, while nice, are no substitute for proper food handling. I sit here monitoring how I am feeling, as if waiting for my stomach to feel bad. Response to onwer. Guess you missed that I watched you do it. Read other reviews. Similar experiences. we are all lying, I guess. Hire an employee.

First time in, discovered on Facebook. Really a nice little place, cozy and quiet (hopefully it's normally busier than today) very clean and liked the modern design of ordering on the easy kiosks. Nice selection, Went with the cheeseburger combo and it was very good.

Great food service! Friendly professional manager ?? Restaurant was very clean and nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
