Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant opened near to us so my wife and I thought we should give it a try. Actually, it was my wife's suggestion...(yes, I need someone to blame...lol). When she met me there she informed me "it may not have a liquor license". At this point I should have walked away but , because I'm a good guy, I decided to step in. It was 5:30 on a Friday night and the place was empty. The decor is excellent and you get a good feeling when you walk in. There was no one to meet us at the door, no signeage as to if we should seat ourselves or wait...so...we wandered in and grabbed a booth. It was 5 minutes before anyone noticed us...lol... but eventually the waitress brought us a menu and wondered whether or not we would like a hookah. I thought it was inappropriate to ask us if we wanted a hooker, especially with my wife there...but then I realized she said hookah...and laughed to myself. We politely declined and told her we were only interested in food. Since we had no drinks to order (yes, the place has no liquor license), we asked for water and the waitress came back and dropped 2 bottles of water at the table...really, no glass? We ordered and then sat and chatted and waited for our appetizer (cheddar sticks) for 21 minutes!! Yes, 21 minutes. Really??? And, when the appetizer came...it came with the burger and the wrap we had ordered. Note to waitress...an appetizer comes "BEFORE" the meal. Not a problem though, we were hungry. Since fries came with my wrap, I asked for vinegar but the waitress said 'we do not have vinegar'...Really? She then returned 5 minutes later to say that they had some after all, but gave it to me in a small bowl...really? Do I dip my fries in there? Was there salt and pepper on the table??? Uh..no. Now, the one thing this place gets decent marks from me is for the food. The cheddar sticks were well worth the wait and the burger my wife ordered was a good size and was well cooked. My Italian chicken wrap was okay but the sauce was a little sweet. All in all though, the food was the pleasant aspect. This place mostly fails in service and attention to detail. It is clearly geared to be a meeting place for specific cultures but then, if you want to invite people to come and snack on some foods and smoke a hookah open up a 'cultural center', not a restaurant. The owners need to remember, that they are a restaurant in Canada. BE INCLUSIVE. I understand that it is a cultural restaurant, which features cultural pastimes like hookah smoking...and I have absolutely no problem with that...but, if this restaurant is truly Canadian...you must cater to 'all' Canadians...just not people from your culture. Be prompt with your service and have your waitresses be more welcoming and inviting...Put salt and pepper on the tables, have vinegar and ketchup available...and 'get a liquor license'!! The decor and food are good...now just fix the other stuff to give people a more pleasing environment to spend a Friday or Saturday night in. The restaurant is in a good location...but, if you want to attract more people and showcase your culture in a positive light...reach out and be happy that people show up at your restaurant to get a feel for your cultural pasttimes.
"A beginners guide to D business practices"I read all the negative reviews about this place and the owner but I ignored it and trusted the place as the experience i was having was not bad.HOWEVER, that changed this Saturday night when i decided to bring my family and a guest who was visiting Toronto for the first time.We were 7 people and got seated, we ordered 2 sheeshas, couple of coffees and a dessert menu item. Pretty normal right? NOPE!They have this policy that the minimum order per person has to be 15 BUCKS! like how is that possible unless you are eating dinner in the place or every person is having his own Sheesha? The whole concept of sheesha is you smoke it around with light snacks or a drink and you are pretty much making it impossible for people to do it. Not to mention the highly infated prices for food and dessertsA slice of bakery cheescake for 9 bucks?A creme brule for 12? is this a Micheline star restaurant?Like who do you think you guys are man?So our server says she can't take our order because its less than whatever bucks and she will have to call the manager, I talked to the manager and she said the same thing that it's a policy and BS and she doesn't agree with it(making a fake sad face) but that's how the owner decided to run the place. I said ask the owner to come talk to us, then she LIED that the owner is not at the restaurant.I know you Mr. OWNER, i saw you at the restaurant, you are too chicken to come talk to your paying customer coz your EGO is too big. This has to be the single most worst experience i have had at a place, and I have had plenty of bad experiences. We left the place and went to al-omda lounge(amazing discovery)I will make it a personal point to let all my friends at oakville know to avoid your place and find an alternative, which is not that hard. Business like these, need to die.
Was suggested by a friend to meet here. This place is nice. The have good selection of fresh justices and nice snacks. Their service was ok not the best. I would for sure come back here again.
I go there at least once a month (mostly more than that) with my friend for sheesha. I LOVE their passion fruit ice tea and watermelon sheesha. The chicken strips aren't bad at all, but other than that the food tends to be on the steep end. Nevertheless, I LOVE the aura and service. You have GOT to try it!
I am regular here. Excellent service. Servers are very courteous and helpful despite full restaurant. Highly recommend for sheesha. Best sheesha so far!
