The Damel - Oakland

I really miss the halal lamb empanadas from this restaurant. I hope it comes back to life like a miracle. The owner was very friendly! It's sad to see their unique green sauce, their halal dishes, and the amazing service I received here go.

This restaurant is fantastic! The staff is very friendly, and they serve some of the best empanadas in Northern California. The acarajé was also superb, with a fritter crust that brings together many rich flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try Brazilian, Argentine, or Senegalese food.

We booked The Damel for our catering order for a team meeting for the first time. The service was excellent; Oumar was very responsive and professional over the phone and via email. The catering delivery was on time and the quality of the food was verygood. We received so much positive feedback from our team members! Good quality for a reasonable price! I would highlyrecommend!

It was my first time trying an empanada and I?m not disappointed. I ordered carne/beef one and it was so flavourful and their green sauce was just *chefs kiss*. The owner and the lady working there are so polite, I really love their behaviour towardscustomers. Only if I could give them 6/5 stars ????.

Ordered online from the truck. Went there and it was closed. apparently only open every other Sunday, but not indicated on the order site. Called the restaurant and the woman says I need to cancel and re-order. The owner will contact me to cancel -they can't just make what I ordered. I did so and drove over the the B&M. On the way there and the owner calls and says I cancancel or they can make what I originally ordered! Too late. Almost there and the lady calls to say they're out of lamb -chicken OK? That or mixed veggies. I arrive and it's another 15 minutes. I say I should get a discount for my troubles . . . oran empanada. She laughed. I ran around town and didn't get what I wanted for getting laughed at?
