Golden Peacock - Oakland

I had the best Chinese food experience in the golden peacock. my friends recommended me to this place and told me that I had to try their press duck, yin yang dumplings, beef gravy wonton soup and their vegetarian potstickers. Eating was excellent. service was wonderful and attentive!

Delicious and Hearty! This place rocks because the food is really good and service is outstanding and prices are reasonable. We came all the way out from Union City so that I can bring my mother-in-law to Oakland Chinatown. We walked around for almost 30 min before we stumbled to Golden Peacock. I’m so glad we came here. We were beyond satisfied with the food. I’m definitely coming back for their Steamed Stuffed Tofu and Szechwan Noodle Platter. Their wontons…I can understand why every table has a large bowl of wontons. They are seriously the best I’ve ever had.

Their food is full of flavor and the restaurant itself has some very nice interior decorations. I've been here 4 times with my co-workers and this place almost always gets packed during lunch hours. Definitely the best Chinese food in Oakland Chinatown. I recommend the Pressed Duck, Duck Yee Foo Wonton Soup, and the Seafood Crispy Chow Mein.

Traditional Chinese food, good and tasty. But I don't come here anymore for 2 reasons.....1) lots restaurants in Alameda, and 2) really rude suggestive selling. They tell me I need to order over $30 worth to make it worth their while to make it for me. The lady Mgr tells me to order tons of food and eat it later.

I got two dinner combo plates one with orange chicken and one with broccoli beef. The portions of the rice were good but the portion of the actual dinner was awful. Looked like two tablespoons of food. The orange chicken was extremely sweet and tasted like it was caked with honey. The broccoli beef wasn’t bad but again super small portion. Wayyy too much for the amount of food
