Firebrand Artisan Breads - Oakland

As soon as you step in you can tell that this place cares about their coffee so this was an instant win for me. Service was friendly and quick, as a tourist I always tend to stumble on my words but the staff played it cool with a friendly approach. Ihad a flat white and a single espresso on the side. The flat white was very well prepared with a great texture and a light layeron top as it should. The espresso tasted good on it's own if you're into a quicker hit. I arrived fairly late in the day so thepasties were pretty much all out or taken off the displays, but managed to get an eclair that was tasty for my liking it couldhave been a bit smaller and a little bit sweeter but it sure still hit that sweet tooth. Other things to note, the place wasquite loud with music and chatter personally I would have dialed down the music a little bit but I guess it all comes down tothe ambiance they want in the shop.

Surprisingly good brunch! French toast and smothered potatoes were really good. They also have a decent chocolate croissant. Edit: Their burrata on toast is also on point.

Great breakfast sandwich (honey biscuit with sausage). Biscuit wasn't too sweet, sausage was delish. I like my fried egg runnier but that's on me as I forgot to ask for it that way. Only area for improvement is that it was a bit dry. The side oftaters was generous and crunchy on outside, tender on inside. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

I 've visited this place many times over the last few years. My favorite unofficial menu item is the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich but on a biscuit. I 'm from Tennessee and we love our hot chicken and biscuits, so I was pleasantly surprised at howscrumptious this sandwich was. When my family and friends visit, I make them try the sandwich to compare to our home cookingand they are equally impressed. The sandwich is very filling, so sharing is not a bad idea. ????

I walked by this place today on the way to Target and saw they had a sign for buy one get one pastries. I stopped in on the way back and grabbed a blackberry danish and a blueberry scone. They were soooo delicious. Never had a scone bigger than my handbefore. I also love the interior of the cafe. The counter is bit of a distance from the entrance so it feels nice and roomy.
