Bidra med feedbackThe food and coffee at this restaurant are fantastic. It can be difficult to find a table when they are really busy.
The food at this restaurant is delicious and full of flavor, with generous portion sizes and excellent coffee. It is my favorite breakfast spot in the East Bay. I have enjoyed everything I have tried here.
Small but delicious food. Great fata and tibsy. Great service and people behind the register and in the kitchen. Very friendly.Food: 5/5
This place is way more than just coffee! They have delicious food. I highly recommend you try the frittata and ask them to put in berbere spice. So savory and delicious! I also liked the shihan ful (though not as much), which was spicer. The kicha fit-fit is pretty unique. It's not sour like most injera, and instead is a fairly mild but chewy--almost rubbery--conduit for the spices which were surprisingly mild. At first I thought it was okay, but it grew on me.The ambiance is very casual with a lot of older Etruria guys sitting around and chatting. Feels like a nice family restaurant!
The love hits you as soon as you enter. Warm grounded atmosphere, comfortable smiles of the patrons, and beaming staff behind the counter offer an escape from the constant forces of change that seem to unceasingly alter the face of Oakland. The food and coffee are tasty, authentic, and full of life. If you seek nourishment of the soul, absent of pretense, look no further than Alem's.
