Scratch On Lake - Oak Park

I used to come here somewhat regularly ~5years ago. The food has become somewhat hit or miss. I have yet to be truly disappointed with it, but this past time I ordered a Mac cheese that was lacking in the cheese department and was over baked (noodles on the surface were very dry) but the rest below was excellent. My friend ordered a burger he absolutely loved. I normally order spuds which have never disappointed me.

Stopped in with a group of friends. Cute little place in a nice location. The food was AWFUL. The scratch burger was cooked very well done as was the from the south burger. The bun on the scratch burger was stale. The mac and cheese had no flavor whatsoever. And we couldn’t tell the difference between the butter and garlic fries vs the Parmesan truffle, which both tasted like they were sitting out all day. We all agreed it was definitely not worth the money.

Not deserving to charge $14 for a burger. No real seasoning to the party, fries were just ok. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. “We dont take temperatures of our bugers” Absolute HOCKEY PUCKS Owner knows it all but the food is trash. Hard pass

The Texas burger was so good that I almost forgot to take the picture. My first visit, everything was awesome! Usually not a fan of pretzel buns, but this was the exception. Excellent beer and cider selection, beautiful location, and great service from sweet people. A new local favorite.

Used to really like this restaurant, unfortunately service has gone down hill. I must also comment on a 3.5% fee they have implemented for paying with anything other then cash. As a business owner myself I find this to be a bad practice. Was told one total and brought a bill for a higher amount. Not something that should be put on the customer, part of doing business. We are approaching the year 2023.
