O Muino De Pena - O Pino

Booked 2 rooms. Hotel was overbooked and they gave us an “apartment” with a kitchen in the garden and a room in the main house. The “apartment” which was not suitable for guests and seemed like staff quarters as the hotel website says 7 rooms in this hotel however the “apartment” was referred to has room 8 and had a different key with no number (unlike the other 7 rooms) . It was damp and very very cold, heater was broken, floor was wet upon check in, the shower leaked, toilet roll was hanging on toilet brush (extremely unhygienic) as there was no toilet roll holder, no hand soap was provided. Driver of shuttle was reckless, speeding on narrow country roads. Other guests in the shuttle commented that we survived the Camino but we might not survive this drive . Food was extremely overpriced. In second bedroom, the shower door was hanging off the runner on the top and bottom and couldn’t be used while showering. A complaint has been lodged with the hotel, they responded by asking for a phone number to contact me but even after 2 follow up emails, nobody has called!

Unbelievable food with excellent service! A party of 11 arrived unsure of what to expect but we were blown away. The welcome was warm with the menu explained to suit all members of our party. The food that followed was something special with all of our family and friends blown away. The restaurant was a beautiful setting to celebrate family events of the past and future. We would highly recommend the restaurant and we would definitely return in the near future.

Mildew in rooms,Food was poor, . Very .Multiple potholes in driveway. Location excellent, A real let down from the night before at Casa Assumpta, 20 minutes away.. No mildew, incredible food. No pot holes.

We had been a few years ago and the experience had been amazing. We had the days to come back, but it has been disappointing! the mattress, the dinner whose meat was so past that it was impossible, the breakfast. A shame but we won't come back!

We arrived at the hotel restaurant as a group of seven and part of a package holiday. Unfortunately the staff had been misinformed of our difficult dietary requirements vegetarian, lactose intolerant and gluten free). Despite having already organised their menu they helpful worked around all of our requirements and provided an excellent meal deserving of a Michelin star for everyone. The restaurant has a lovely ambience in the old mill and there is a small museum at the side of it. I would highly recommend this as place to eat and stay.
