Bidra med feedbackThe variety of mushrooms served in their shell was exceptional, surpassing the usual button mushrooms typically offered. Frankly, I regretted not choosing this appetizer for myself and felt a twinge of jealousy.
I live locally and pass by almost daily. It is a while since I last ventured in and it looks like nothing has changed. Poor service the staff don't have a clue, they would rather stand and chat to the few people who do go in. Tables not cleared., just plain dirty. I would not think of taking anyone in given the state of the place, and the kind of cliental that do actually go in.
My husband and I stopped in when we saw the place was in fact open again, I really wish we hadn’t bothered. All of the charm left with the previous management (and so did the lovely decor there has been a fruit machine brought in (why?! and the only patrons were sweary rough middle aged men who clearly use bad language as punctuation. After being served an orange and lemonade in a grubby Stella glass and having sat by the fire the smell of old grease and dirty beer soaked towels drove us out. Just a whole bag of nope from us!
I've been a regular and well known customer for many many years.
This pub was once the heart of the village where locals met and food was great. The place has reopened not even attempting a refresh or refurb.
