Lagarta Lodge - Nosara

Enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner with a great view at Restaurant Chirriboca at Lagarta Lodge. GF items were marked on the menu and they had a good selection of apps and main dishes. The service wasn’t great but it was probably one of their business nights of the years. Definitely worth the effort to have dinner or drinks with an unbelievable view and cool indoor/outdoor setting.

The view is the only thing worth visiting here. The service was horrible. Everyone seemed confused about what to do. For the amuse bouche they substituted chips for bread. When they served the ceviche they said we could've have the chips because they were fried in a shared fryer. We received conflicting information on what was gluten free and opted for the simplest and safest dishes. Our entrees took so long that a server came up and asked if we wanted coffee and dessert. We told him we were waiting for our entrees, he filled our water glasses, and five minutes later he took them away. I feel fine, but I'll never eat here again. Grab a drink for the view and head down the hill for better options.

This place is beautiful elsewhere. To sit in a heated infinity pool overlooking a beach with crashing waves and the treetops of a jungle... Who does that? It was pure luxury!! The staff was all helpful and friendly (thanks to Valentina for the tour! . The rooms were large and comfortable. Many animals I loved (an iguanas lived in the tree outside our room, monkeys here and there, and a family of raccoons visited me one night after the darkness. The beach is not really within walking distance, but there are many free shuttles. There is also a nature reserve connected to the property, which is ideal for hiking. If you drive, you will get an entire SUV wheel drive. Overall highly recommended!! It is the sky!!!

Bad roads bring good people, says it on the sign outside and the streets are worse than bad, but the hotel is beautiful. If you first go to the top-level restaurant, the view takes your breath away and no photo would ever do justice. The rooms are large, comfortable and have a breathtaking view. The service is of nothing too much trouble type and the food is simply excellent... The fruit tastes as if it was chosen to order and the fish is so fresh, it is delicious. Definitely worth the road!
