Bidra med feedbackOne word to sum up our visit here.. Seamless. <br/ <br/ This venue has an ultra modern hipster, laid back vibe with great tunes in the evenings and city views and is well-suited to a more mature Johannesburg crowd, which I like.. <br/ <br/ Service: 5/5<br/ <br/ Food: 5/5<br/ Kicking off our afternoon in Parkwood with some delicious bar snacks to share: Flatbread; Cannellini bean dip with roast red pepper, walnut chilli pesto; my favourite fried artichoke hearts with roasted garlic za’atar aioli. Healthy, moreish and the perfect compliment to some zesty cocktails! Next up on our delicious journey through Streetbar's tapas menu is their cured trout tartare with pickled onions, tarragon pistachio nuts. Zesty, healthy, tasty and already a firm favourite that I would return for! Our next selection of tapas has something for the seafood and meat lovers: Charred bok choy with tamarind, chilli, lime fish sauce, Pork belly slow cooked with orange star anise, Harissa marinated sirloin with preserved lemon chimichurri, and Iraqi spiced chicken breast with garlic, almond parsley relish chicken crackling. Did I mention that A Streetbar Named Desire makes the most mouthwatering, melt-in-your-mouth Spanish Chorizo croquettes with Manchego cheese paprika sour cream? If you are wanting something spicy and decadent, the combination of Manchego cheese and paprika sour cream is incredible! It's difficult not to lick the plate! Last but not least, our notable favourites (from one of the most extensive Vegetarian tapas selections that I've seen to date anywhere in Johannesburg) that I recommend: Courgette fritters with cucumber yoghurt dipping sauce, Cherry tomatoes with wasabi mascarpone pine nuts, Spiced chickpeas with crispy pita, yoghurt, brown butter vinaigrette, Butternut with ginger roasted tomatoes, cardamom lime yoghurt. What an absolute feast for the tastebuds whether you are a Vegetarian or not! <br/ <br/ Ambiance at their sundowner session: 5/5<br/ <br/ Watch this space for the full images and review..<br/ <br/ <br/ For more, find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter: LaurasWorldza
Probably one of my favorite places for a drink after dinner. Music isn't too intense and there's a nice variety of drinks and snacks.
Cool bar for afternoon drinks. It's a nice vibe on the balcony watching the sunset with a beer or cocktail in hand. Their tapas are tasty too!
Great place to get a drink but the deck can get a bit too wild and crowded. All in all, great experience.
Good food and service. Not your traditional pub food. I like the decor and ambience. Parking is a bit of an issue. Come with uber.
