Bidra med feedbackThere were plenty of staff at the restaurant today, and the person who served our food was very pleasant. Unfortunately, my latte was only lukewarm, which is something that always annoys me as I can't understand how some places can make them nice and hot while others can't. However, my husband's cup of tea was hot and full of flavor. The turkey soup with a puff pastry top was delicious, but the bowl it came in was very small. The online picture made it look much larger than it actually was by placing a teaspoon next to it. The carrot cake, as always, was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, but it can be difficult to find a seat.
Had the new Christmas turkey and ham hock sandwich,very disappointed,looked nothing like the menu picture, was dry over cooked and bland,they have skimped on the filling and had sold out of gravy when I ordered,they promise a lot on their menu picture but I would not buy this again,Norwich cafe has gone down hill lately and shutting the first floor cafe was the worst thing they could have done as the second floor cafe cannot cope.
This is a filthy cafe, flies and rubbish left out on most tables and all over the floor plus expensive. AVOID. Staff look depressed.
Passed by on Saturday with my wife and son, and thought would be nice to visit and have a coffee. Went there on 20/03/2023, very disappointed, nobody serving, even though I only waited 5 mins, there was nobody else their, staff finally came out, but actually served the woman who had just turned up, when staff member finally served me, I asked for a hot chocolate and a white coffee, hot chocolate wasn't hot and the coffee was an americano with a tiny bit of milk on the side, I said that I wanted a white coffee which she replied we don't have white coffee on the menu, to which I replied then just do a Latte then, M&S server was just rude, didn't really want my day to be ruined by incompetent staff, so I left it. While seated, looked around, but not busy, yet tables hadn't been cleaned nor trays and cups hadn't been removed, come away disappointed, will not return as first impressions do last. My wife and I both come from successful careers in catering as well as a high level of customer service. So M&S, please take advice on what the comments are, not just from me but others.
Visited top floor cafe on Saturday morning not open until 9am changed from 8am. Massive queue this congested top floor so no one could pass through to the toilet area. Only one staff taking order and making coffee. Coffee not hot enough and over priced. Cafe has gone down hill don’t blame staff blame management. Management rude when I pointed this out.
