Bidra med feedbackI don 't like to give out 5 's, but this place is GREAT. The food 's at least respectable, and often terrific. I just had the chicken wings, L had the meatloaf sand special, and they were great. My friend had the salad, and it looked great. It 's lettuce and tomato, she said. But the lettuce was true mixed greens, not a hint of iceberg; no, nothing fancy but good and fresh! I 've had the fish also. It was so tasty. And the drinks are really good too. Had my Margarita in a pint glass(! Not a lot of ice, and no skimping on the tequila. L had the punch, which I had last time; a summer treat, also in a pint glass. The terrace is lovely. And the service! So great. The manager friendly and the waiter even more so. 10 people? Separate checks? Not a problem. No muss, no fuss. We go after tennis. We 've considered other places, and gone once or twice--but there 's just no place better to sit in a group on a Sunday afternoon out on the terrace overlooking the golf course, eating good food, downing good drinks, chatting and being treated so well by Dreeze (sp? our wonderful waiter. You just can 't beat it.
Was somewhat dragged to this place by a friend who needed a wing woman for a singles mixer. The place itself is really nice, almost like a small wedding reception venue. I imagine it is used for small private holiday parties, anniversary celebrations, etc. It is on a golf course and is in a residential neighborhood. Smallish bar area with large dining room area. Menu was small...about 8 appetizers, all ranging from $8 $12 and about 6 entrees in the $20 $30 range. I was hungry, but not hungry enough for a dinner that expensive, so I opted for the honey pear salad (appetizer for $9.75....which ended up being a teeny tiny pile of salad with a poached/glazed pear on the side along with a heap of crumbled blue cheese. (Needless to say, later on in the night I had to stop at a diner for more food. Lol. Also shared a bottle of prosecco for $30 with my friend (figured it made more sense since individual drinks were around $8 $10 each anyway . Plus, it's always fun to be poppin' bottles : I doubt I'd come back due to not being a frequenter of Norwalk, nor posh restaurants, nor singles mixers. I must say the manager was involved with helping his wait staff and all were very polite and friendly. They definitely made our visit much more pleasant.
Went here on a Livingsocial deal and glad we did. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the deck area that overlooks the putting green. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the view. Even though service was quite slow, they were extremely pleasant and helpful. Being that we were there to relax and enjoy the day, we had NO problem with the speed. He continued to refill our water and he became more attentive as the meal went on. We decided to both get the burger and it was a very very good burger large, juicy and perfectly cooked. When we received the burger, the co owner co owner/cook both came out to apologize for the wait and check on the food. Very nice touch. At the end of our meal they made it really easy to use the Livingsocial deal that happened to be expired. They honored the purchase amount with no question. We 'd definitely go back to try the other dishes. Only reason for the 4 stars is because it has room for improvement.
Amazing food and service at this hidden gem within the Oak Hills Golf Course in Norwalk. Eat outside on the patio with views of the course and enjoy crab cakes or steak frites or go more casual with a burger and awesome fries. Love this place!
The new owner's have made the main dining room more hospitable than it ever was before. We were greeted warmly with reference to my call for a reservation. Although I intensely dislike intrusive service [How y'all doing? , the staff from the owner down couldn't have been more pleasant. Including a conversation about adopting dogs, he has two adoptees and we have one. I ordered a crab cake with Tequila Lime sauce. It actually had lumps of crab in it and was in a well formed generous cake, Outstanding. This was followed by broiled trout cooked to perfection served with white navy beans and sliced carrots and broccoli served as a side dish. The Chef is a tad generous with garlic. My companion had a lovely salad followed by Rigatoni sweet Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, garlic olive oil. It was also outstanding. We followed the main course with a Crepe filled with sliced banana, chocolate ganache, Candied walnuts, vanilla bean ice cream and Warm decadent chocolate brownie, Vanilla ice cream, crème anglaise, pistachio praline. These are best described as sinful. We used a Living Social Coupon and will return again.
