Bidra med feedbackBooked for Sunday lunch. The pub was cold, due to the heating not working (this was not communicated when the booking was made on the day). But when I asked to move tables from the cold dining room where guests had kept their coats on, the staff did accommodate and move me close to the fire. The Sunday lunch itself was nice but it was ruined partially by being cold and served on a cold plate . The puddings were very good and there was a good selection. I think for the price of for 2 courses, I expect my food to be served hot. I had such high hopes for this pub after reading reviews. I do hope this can rectified.
My wife and I, and dog ! received a warm welcome from manager Jack, who turned out to be a great feature in his own right ! The pub is very cosy with a coal fire and comfortable atmosphere and the beer garden has stunning views over the Tyne Valley. It provides a good selection of beers, wines and cider aswell as an extensive menu. Most tastes are catered for. We had a fantastic beef blade with braised carrots and chips. Whether you are just popping in for a drink or having a meal, I would strongly recommend a visit to the Lion and Lamb. Thanks to all concerned.
This pub will not disappoint on any level! We have just enjoyed Sunday lunch, it was amazing! Beef that melted in the mouth, lovely crispy potatoes, great gravy, nice choice of veg and the crumble was gorgeous! The service was polite, efficient and friendly. Obviously a great team as so nice to hear the banter between them at the end of service. Lovely pub, great history and fab location! Well worth a visit! We will definitely be back for another Sunday lunch but also to try the other menus! Thank you! PS the custard was yummy Vegetarian options: Some lovely options on the menu Wheelchair accessibility: Appeared to be all on one level and no big steps to navigate
Booked online then received nothing but attitude from staff implying they may struggle to get us a table. Food came out quick and was good however, staff seemed rushed and didnt have to time to ask if we wanted sauces or drinks. Took an hr after finishing mains for plates to be taken away. Waited for dessert menu but never came, had to ask them to take the price off as it was included on the kids meals. Nightmare with young kids.. they're clearly taking too many bookings than they can manage.
We booked on line and our table wasn’t ready when we arrived .Advised to get drink at bar 3 staff members ignored me and a fourth arrived and eventually served me drinks . Ordered roast pork and roast chicken . Roast potatoes were like bricks and inedible , meat was cold and stuffing was still frozen . Deserts were okay . Really disappointed given reviews . Price per person: £20–30
