Lindisfarne - Northumberland

We started with loaded fries, but were disappointed by the dry fries topped with paprika or cayenne and a slice of melted cheese with burnt pieces of bacon on top. The mains were decent, with good poached haddock and linguine, and okay partridge. The surf and turf was overcooked and came with only 2 prawns. The food was average overall. However, the service was friendly and great. The location is good and the restaurant is always busy, but the kitchen needs to improve the quality of the food they serve. With some effort, this place could be great.

My family and I decided to dine at this restaurant while staying in the area. Despite the appealing exterior, we encountered numerous issues once inside. We placed our order for four people together and paid as a group, all sitting at the same table. However, my wife's and my meals arrived before our guests', and when we inquired, we were told that they were working on a two-till system, causing delays for orders placed in between ours. My brioche bun was burnt and the burger was small with only a few chips on the plate. After we finished, our guests were still waiting for their meals for nearly 45 minutes. Despite multiple attempts to get an explanation, we were only told the same reason for the delay. Eventually, our guests' meals arrived, but by then, we had already finished eating. Overall, the food was of poor quality, poorly cooked, served slowly, and overpriced. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant. - Paul

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The Sunday lunch looked appetizing but the meat was tough and the cabbage was undercooked. The mashed potatoes were overly peppery and had chunks of fat in them, making it difficult to enjoy. I paid £20.65 for my meal and when asked if everything was okay, I said yes even though I hadn't started eating yet. When I eventually told the server that the meal was not fine, no one came back to address the issue. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Big fans of the sister pub in Seahouses the Bamburgh Castle Inn so thought this would be a great spot for lunch. I doubt we’ll be back. Ordered the open steak sandwich with blue cheese, watercress and crispy onions on toasted sourdough, served with fries. When it came there were no onions, no watercress and it was extremely dry. Disappointing.

We stayed at the Lindisfarne inn from 27th August to 28th August as a 4 party (and a baby. This was for my birthday as we went to Holy Island and Bamburgh. The hotel and pub were clean, cosy and inviting and the food was great. The staff, however, were the absolute highlight. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating and more importantly they were friendly, considerate, funny and interesting people who made the trip such a treat. Special thanks to Donna, Myra and Gavin in particular they need a raise immediately they were wonderful in making us feel so welcome and making my birthday so special thank you so much I won’t forget that. They were also amazing with our baby son who loved them. If I had a small gripe it would be the meal sizes were a little small but really we didn’t walk away hungry so it’s not a great complaint. Keep up the amazing work folks, we can’t wait to see you again.
