Bidra med feedbackI recently visited a charming tearoom with excellent staff. My son and I follow gluten and dairy-free diets, and we were impressed by the variety of food options available to us. The tearoom is also dog-friendly. I suggest making a reservation, as it can be quite popular. We will definitely return in the future!
I had planned to treat my mum to a birthday celebration in the afternoon after our beach walk today. Even though the restaurant's Facebook page stated that they were open until 4pm on 2nd/3rd/4th January, we arrived before 3pm and were rudely turned away by an uninterested staff member. It was frustrating to have our plans disrupted in this way. While I understand that schedules can change, the staff member could have at least shown some empathy and offered an apology. We ended up going to The Castle Inn instead, where we received much friendlier and more welcoming service.
Here with 2 big dogs, it was busy but they found room. Food was good quality and service was good. The menu is fairly limited and I would have loved some chips or even crisps with my steak sandwich. They don’t mind the big dogs though so it’s all good.
We have visited twice this week and enjoyed a variety of sandwiches: crab, prawn and beef. All were absolutely delicious, fresh and very filling. We also treated ourselves to a cream tea between us which was divine. Light and delicious warm scones, home made jam and plenty of cream. It was a good job that we walked there and back from Seahouses! Prices seemed very reasonable to us and the ambience was lovely we sat outside for one visit and inside for the other. The staff really could not of been more friendly despite being rushed off their feet. They were efficient, we didn’t wait long for our food or drinks, and they were full of smiles and warmth. We did see one couple trying to trip them up with clever comments but the staff coped well and were really polite. Most customers were friendly though and, like us, were enjoying themselves. This little gem is one of our go to places when we visit Northumberland and we’ll visit again.
We come here every time we visit Bamburgh and always enjoy our visit. We usually have the soup and cheese scone but opted for sandwiches. We had a cheese and onion toasted and a beef and horseradish sandwich with a giant pot of tea. Not sure why but this place seems to have lost its charm that it had previously. We were a bit disappointed that they had no crab sandwiches. The food was good but not as we remember it to be and as every where the prices had gone up to around 7.50 for a sandwich on brown bread. The side salad was soaked in drizzle and had a mountain of cress on the top of it. It was just ok we would say and maybe we were expecting too much as we had happy memories of this place in the past.
