Bidra med feedbackWhere do I begin... we had to stay here because of a lacrosse tournament at UMASS the travel people for the tournament make you stay in section 8 housing for the most part. They will be my next stop for a chat. Let's start with check-in the young lady at the front desk was polite and friendly and took care of us. I popped in early Saturday morning to scope out the continental breakfast in the lobby which wasn't to bad. The staff yet again very friendly and polite. We happen to catch more than one drug deal go down in the parking lot. Let's keep in mind we had young children with us. The safety aspect of this hotel was less then desirable. This hotel is a MUST STAY AWAY!
The hotel seems to be a little in flux. There are signs asking you to pardon their appearance during renovation, although I didn't see any evidence of work by the rooms. The lobby is having their desk moved from the front to the back, so there is some work there, with a breakfast nook off to the left. We didn't try breakfast, but the smell of cooking pancakes lingered at check out. Parking lot is a good size. There was no issue getting a spot near the room. The hotel is a mix of outdoor rooms, and a three story building with more rooms and a pool. Our room was one of the outdoor facing rooms, if that matters. There were definitely some areas to be improved in renovation the back of the room with the fridge had no light, the pillows could use some retiring or severe cleaning (the smoke smell in the non smoking room lingered, and what happened to being able to watch movies on demand or at least connect a cell phone? Why the dependence on cable? On the positives, the mattress was really comfortable, but HIGH in the air. I'm almost six foot, my feet could not touch the ground. They may contract out to a basketball team or something, I'm not sure how kids climb up. The employees were really accommodating though, and make this go from a three star experience to four they brought new towels quickly and promptly on request (room service being cut back due to Covid).
So... I had no choice and I end up in this hotel ... I paid $250 give or take and it was pretty bad. The first room 301 had issues with the drain system , sink, shower and toilet ... The second room smelled like a busy bar that allows smoking . I mean ... it's doable if you really got stuck...but I won't do it again . The second star is for the guy in the front ears that was very kind and helpful. But honestly ... it's time for some renovations .
If I could give this joint minus stars it would get a minus 10. Oh my god, it's straight out of a horror movie. Junkies in the parking lot, trash all around, water on the floor, bathroom door that sticks, closet door that squeaks, hair dryer that doesn't work, lighting from a horror flic this is the lowest sleaze joint I've ever stayed in. Gaaah, Run away!!
Centrally located within walking distance of downtown Northampton. Reasonably priced. Clean rooms and exceptionally comfortable bed. Fireplace in room, quiet rooms, no outside noises can be heard, windows open to get that fresh mountain air. Plenty of soap, shampoo and towels. Front desk clerk was extremely pleasant and helpful, would definitely stay here again, highly recommend.
