Bidra med feedbackFollowing the day's intense walking adventure, I suggested dropping by Go For Tea to refuel. To my surprise, the Scarborough location was even larger and grander than their now-shuttered Richmond Hill spot. <br/ <br/ We chanced upon their Afternoon Tea Time Special, which was a two-part combo that included two snacks and 50% off any of their drinks. The portions were relatively substantial, making it a great pre-dinner option.
This is a very spacious, modernly decorated place to drink bubble tea and hang out. It was not too busy the few times I've been there, and not too noisy so you can have conversation with your friends. The booths are super comfy and far away enough from other booths/tables so you get some privacy. Additionally, the staff were around but not constantly bugging you, so you don't feel rushed and can stay as long as you'd like.<br/ <br/ The selection of food and drink items is huge. I cannot comment on the food, as I've only had the teas, which were flavourful. Overall, it's a relaxing place to chill and I would definitely return if I'm in the area.
After morning errands were finished, I suggested trying out a new place for lunch: Go For Tea.<br/ <br/ When we arrived, I was surprised at how large the interior of the restaurant was. Based on photos uploaded onto various networks/restaurant review apps, the inside was much more spacious than expected. It had a modern feel that was juxtaposed by the gaudy artificial leftover Christmas decorations. This is not to say that the decorations weren't visually appealing; they just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the decor.<br/ <br/ The strange choice of music also caught my eyes well, ears. To avoid classifying the style into an inappropriate genre, I will simply state the the tunes were more fitting for a cozy Moroccan diner than a sophisticated afternoon tea joint.<br/ <br/ Service was decently fast, and our waiter attended to us in a timely manner, though not always with the most friendliest expression.
Good looking servers but I agree they could smile a bit more. A great place for a first date and a snack after a night of drinking. The decor is beautiful, especially at night. I recommend the popcorn chicken!
A place of warmth and kindness! .^ ^. I 've been to both locations, but the one I frequent the most is the location Midland and McNicoll and after reading the previous reviews, I felt like having to write a positive review just cause I think if people read the negative reviews, they might think it 's true.<br/ <br/ I 've been a long time customer and with all honesty, I can tell you:<br/ <br/ A. If you feel that they forget orders...<br/ Maybe the people who take your order is a trainee and he/she is already nervous enough to please the customer. We 've all been a trainee for something (at one point or another), haven 't you ever felt the pressure of pleasing the customers that sometimes you don 't quite catch EVERYTHING the customer tells you? I know I have, but it 's all about making mistakes and improving on those mistakes.<br/ If the person who took your order wasn 't a trainee, well then maybe he/she heard you wrong. Again, mistakes are all part of human nature.<br/ <br/ B. If you feel they take forever to serve you...<br/ You should realize that you 're not the ONLY customer they have to serve and you 're not the ONLY customer that the chefs are preparing the food for. Imagine if they just rushed through with your order and you ended up having to eat something that you know was made without any effort or anything. Quality is always better than quantity (esp. when it come to food).<br/ <br/ C. If you feel they 'ignore ' you to chat with their friends...<br/ Yeah, they do talk to their friends but there 's nothing wrong with that because they at the same time look to see when a customer requires their service. They might not see you right away, until you do something to catch their attention, but they 're not ignoring you intentionally.<br/ <br/ D. If you feel like they don 't smile...<br/ This is pretty hard to believe, just cause I always see them smiling; but if you do feel like they don 't smile, maybe it 's because it had been a really long day for them. I mean think about it the place is opened from 11AM-3AM, so wouldn 't you be tired too, esp. if you had to work the night shift?<br/ <br/ E. If you feel like they don 't deserve tips...<br/ Try to put yourself in their shoes. They work hard and try to make their customers happy. They may even find it difficult to understand what you want because of language barriers, but at least they work hard and do their best. At the end of the day, the best is all you can ask from someone.<br/ <br/ Go For Tea to me is a place of warmth and kindness. The workers there really give it their all when it comes to pleasing their customers. <br/ <br/ Remember, if you expect to be treated with sincerity and kindness, then that is how you need to treat others.
