Bidra med feedbackI arranged to meet friends at Mount St Bernard Abbey, we had a peaceful and prayerful visit as always, then popped around the corner to the tearoom, first time for all of us. So glad we did! Quirky and charming. We were greeted and seated, despite not booking in advance. All chose the carrot coriander soup, two of us with the cheese scone. Utterly delicious. My friends didn't want cake but I was curious about the chocolate cake made with Tynt Meadow ale, so ordered a slice and we all tried it. Excellent, different. Eileen looked after us really well and I'm sure we'll be back in the future. The mismatched furniture and china all adds to the charm and the craft shop is well worth a look. Offcuts of timber for sale to those who are creative, you could even make a coffee table out of one! I just wish I lived a little closer to this quirky, fabulous place.
What a calm friendly place had the most beautiful, fresh lunch at a reasonable price absolutely delicious, did find a black coffee very expensive at 3.55 though
Great for breakfast, lunch or for cream teas Today i had a fabulous slice of homemade chocolate cake which highly recommend. Craft shop great as well. Coffee was excellent. Service fabulous.
This restaurant is wonderful. The food and drinks were delicious as we spent the afternoon chatting away. We enjoyed sitting outside and admiring the beautiful countryside. We also stopped by the on-site craft shop, where we found locally made products for sale. We will definitely be returning.
Don't go if you want a quick stop. The service was incredibly slow. Waited over an hour for a jacket spud, 2 scones and 2 sandwiches. The drinks themselves took nearly 45 minutes for 2 cup of teas and 2 cans. The tuna was inedible it was swimming in some liquid. The scones were good and filling but definitely not worth a wait and definitely overpriced. I dont think we will ever return.
