Good selection of gin Food is always spot on Nice atmosphere some staff are lovely. One has a bit of a attitude problem towards any man at the bar . Other than her the rest are amazing
A friend and I went in here for a bite to eat on a Tuesday night at around 7 o'clock. They serve food until 8.30 from Monday-Thursday. We both had steak and asked for medium rare. Unfortunately it was a bit overdone for us but nevertheless it was tasty. The chips were hot and well cooked, the mushrooms were delicious,,,all in all it was very nice and I would have it again. The barman was friendly and the wine was fine. It's well worth a visit. They have quite a varied menu but not too much.
Came for an early tea and I'm so glad we came the food was absolutely lovely. Starters were quite a size we had halloumi which was cooked to perfection and potato skins would give any Italians a run for their money. Mains were equally delicious, fish, pie both with lovely homemade chunky chips and a salad all portions huge and all very tasty, the kids meal was also very good. Great value for money and the blonde girl behind the bar was lovely. Will definitely be going back.
Just been to the jolly bowman for lunch thought we would give it a try since it has been done out.well not much has changed it is still a horrible horrible horrible pub, there is no atmosphere at all it is so drab, we were sitting eating our dinner and all we could hear was a group sitting and every other word was the F word. well im sorry you just dont want that when you have paid for your lunch you want to sit and eat it and feel comfortable. it is not right as there is children there i would not want my grandchildren hearing that. im sorry if this sounds harsh but it is a true reflection of my sunday lunch so i will never set foot in there again.
