The location of the restaurant is its biggest draw - situated on the waterfront next to the bridge, it's in a perfect spot. The service was efficient and friendly, and the outdoor tables and area were clean. However, the food was very overpriced. While the setting was fantastic, the breakfast I ordered was lukewarm and tasteless. The baked beans had a strange sweet and metallic taste, with mostly watery juice rather than beans. I had to add salt and pepper to get any flavor. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and felt that the restaurant was more focused on making a profit rather than providing a good dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.
The restaurant is situated in a stunning location, but unfortunately, the food and cleanliness standards were unsatisfactory. In the current Covid-19 times, cleanliness is crucial, yet the chipped tea pots were harboring germs. The milk jug was dirty with milk scum and black bits in it. When I asked for it to be changed, the young man brought out the same dirty jug again. After insisting, I finally received a clean jug of milk. The food was average at best, with an abundance of red onion in the salad but lacking in other greens. Overall, besides the beautiful location, there is nothing special about this restaurant. The lack of cleanliness raises concerns about the overall hygiene standards. I would recommend avoiding this place.
We went there yesterday afternoon for lunch. The service was a bit slow but we did not mind as we had a nice table overlooking the broads by the bridge watching the boats go by. The food when it came was excellent. I had a burger and my wife had a jacket potato with prawns.
Having enjoyed many a trip to this Cafe we noticed immediately things had changed. They claim to serve a brand of coffee but it tasted both like it. Three separate times we ordered food and each time it was served with no cutlery! By the time we had managed to get some the food was cold. Extremely poor service. At least 4 couples walked off having waited so long to be acknowledged by staff or promised they would be back to take an order but never returned. Great shame this has gone down hill so much! Sort it out new management you can’t rely just on location for business. Staff need training and you need more of them!
