I asked her for an extra ranch dressing (not crowded 14 minutes later I got my extra salad dressing. my wife was finished with her lunch. I told her it was too late ,I didnt eat my salad, and said im not paying for my salad but will pay for my spouses meal. Said I like eating with my wife , not taking it home. she got the the Cook (owner I guess he came out and was very rude and not at all POLITE !! Tried to make me pay for my salad , and I refused !! The owner ,or the cook, is not a PEOPLE PERSON !!!!!!!!! very very very very RUDE !!! told him I wont pay for the salad I didn't eat. Said to him this was my first visit at ZOOKS in N Manchester IN 46962. And my last. His remark was GOOD and he was not quiet about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very very very very very SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I chose the soup of the day, tomato basil, along with a Swiss and mushroom burger. The soup was so salty that neither of us could eat more than a spoonful. As for the burger, it was incredibly dry—so much so that we suspected it had been pre-cooked and reheated. It crumbled apart from the dryness. Our waitress never returned to check on us; in fact, our food was delivered by a young man from the kitchen who wandered around asking which table ordered pancakes. My husband had to wave his arms to get attention. The service was terrible. After waiting a long time for our bill, it never arrived, so we eventually approached our very bored waitress at the counter to ask how much we owed. For the first time in my life, I chose not to leave a tip. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place!
The restaurant formerly known as Zook's has been transformed into Crystal Main Street Bar and Grill. While the decor leaves something to be desired, I'm here for the food, not the aesthetics. The meal was quite enjoyable, with everything being homemade. The soup was flavorful, and it’s hard to go wrong with a BLT sandwich, which turned out well. My daughter wasn't fond of the fried pickle spears or mozzarella sticks because they were a bit greasy, but I thought they were tasty. My wife had the "Tommy Gun" sandwich, which was large and she enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable, and while I wouldn’t label this as a must-visit spot, I would definitely return. Overall, the food quality was impressive for the price.
He ordered pancakes, which were somewhat decent but tasted like they came from a cheap box mix. I opted for the soup of the day, tomato basil, and a Swiss and mushroom burger. Unfortunately, the soup was so salty that neither of us could get past a spoonful. The burger was incredibly dry, to the point that it seemed pre-cooked and merely reheated—it crumbled apart as I tried to eat it. To make matters worse, our waitress never checked on us. In fact, she didn’t even bring us our food; a young man from the kitchen came out to deliver the dishes and went from table to table asking who ordered pancakes. My husband had to wave his arms to get his attention. What terrible service! We waited a long time for our bill, which never arrived, so we finally went up to the counter to ask our disinterested waitress how much we owed. For the first time in my life, I didn't leave a tip. I would recommend avoiding this place!
As we entered the restaurant, the smell reminded me of a museum. My friend and I waited comfortably until a waiter finally came to our table after about nine minutes, as they were busy in the kitchen. The waitress seemed like we were bothering her. Unfortunately, the food was awful; I can't believe how someone could ruin an omelet. To top it off, the chef emerged from the kitchen wearing a sleeveless t-shirt, sporting a mullet and tattoos, and without any hair covering. I felt ready to leave as I headed to the check-out desk.
