Sugar Daddy's Cafe - North Las Vegas

When I say this place has never let me down for the past 4 years I’ve been going here and the cook in there OMG hands down is thee best. I haven’t eaten anything nasty the fried okra the fish the steak and gravy chicken fried rice the sides all good mannnn the chicken and waffles the corn bread…DELICIOUS TO ITS CORE THE FOOD MAKES YOU SAY WHERES THE COOK OH AND THAT SUGAR DADDY KOOL AID OH LORD TRY TRY TRY

So we traveled out here to this restaurant from the strip. What a waste. Only for there to be a sign up that they don't open until 2:30pm. Mind you it was 10:35am when we arrived. We ended having to look elsewhere for food.

Worst place ever been , over charged never received whole order, so I paid $35. For 2 pieces of fish never received the shrimps, nor the Mac and cheese instead they put a double portion of yams, and I hate yams, it was all garbage never again , if you not going to run the business right don’t do it at all , that’s my opinion

Nice and cozy looking place and the gentleman that behind the counter very respectful and friendly but I'm not at all satisfied with my meal. My asparagus is deep fried and my lamb chops and basically baby chops that it looks like he just tossed on skillet. The greens are great and they taste better then the lamb chops. I wanted to say mad nice things but this look like a 10$ hot plate that I could of got out of the hood kitchen house. I have no sauce to the chops and it's no real flavor to be extra honest. I want to support my black people and there businesses but when the product is not ur par what do they expect the community to do. Bad enough it's no real southern food spots here in Vegas you either get Asian, Mexican,European food. This why I go back to Detroit every few months just to get my soul food and culture. My black people if your gonna open a restaurant especially a soul food joint make sure the food is tasty and filing and soulful like come' on. The reviews I read were more negative then positive I just wanted to find out for myself. And I'm a stoner and still nothing. Man this asparagus is chewy a hell. This s ain't no damn deep fried. Man the more I chew the chewyer it gets. I know not a word). I'm cool on this spot.

The food was great, not salty hot and fresh. I ordered the oxtails plate, I like the took most of the bones out) w/greens yams, delicious) the fried ribs plate w/ Mac cheese, greens they didn't have BBQ ribs : but they were better than what I expected. They Hennessy chicken wings are delicious I know why they say world famous. Also I ordered some onion rings, very good. They got my order right and it was hot and delicious I recommend this place to anyone who wants some good feel good food that tastes like ya mama made it.
