Moon Rise Cafe - North Haven

I don’t know how this place is still opened, every time I come here it is a different issue. They close early everyday and the staff is rude.

Last week I went to Moon Rise for the first time to meet a friend before starting our day. We quickly decided on our beverages breakfast; as my friend was paying, I started to walk away but realized I almost left my muffin on the counter. I turned back to reach for my muffin only to have one of the employees behind the counter huff and puff at me that I was “holding up the line”. Said line contained 1 person that had only walked in a moment prior to this interaction.North Haven PD seems to like this spot, as there were several officers gathering that morning, so I had hopes that irritable employee’s comment was a one off happenstance and that this was indeed a nice place to go. But waiting for my coffee, I noticed several people and officers who had come in after me getting served their coffee first to the point I almost thought my order had been forgotten.I left that morning feeling that I was not wearing the right uniform to be a welcome customer to Moon Rise. While the coffee and muffin were fantastic, I won’t be coming back.

Even though I don't like turkey bacon, they were able to make me a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. It was buttery and flaky. Their spice chai comes in different levels of spiciness and they balance it well with the sweet. Would definitely return here again.

Rude staff! They offer gluten free bread but when we asked if they could prep a gf sandwich on a separate surface away from gluten products they refused to even serve us because they did not want us to give a bad review if we got sick . Also not sure how clean it is back there because she said crumbs are flying everywhere we can 't be sure . Most places understand the importance of minimizing cross contamination for ANY type of allergy super disrespectful to act like that to customers.

Great place. Not local and just passing thru. Lucky find. Stocked up on tea for home. The service was the best, Josh so helpful and friendly. Sandwich was perfectly yummy. A Thank you!
