Bidra med feedbackThe food was absolutely delicious. the environment was sweet and felt very warm. we have the crab cake, the beet salad and the dumplings for appetizers and lamb and garnel and grits for the main course. we also tried three desserts who were phenomenal. the only reason why it wasn't a perfect experience is that it was too loud and the guests next to us spoke so loud it seemed like they were screaming. it is a must to visit and hopefully we do not have to deal with this kind of thing again.
I did not expect the food to taste good here because of the way it looked. (Didn't look bad just gave an older pasta house vibe). But that food was delicious!! We started with calamari.. it was really good.. for dinner I had fried chicken with greens and corn pudding and added mac cheese. Let's just say, you can tell his grandma taught him to cook!! It was amazing!!! And the owner Jason brought our food out. He has a funny and cool personality, made me like being there even more. The only thing we didn't care for were the drinks...but im sure there will be others to try in the future
Not impressed Drinks were weak and overpriced for what they were. Scallops with grits had little flavor. Fried chicken with collards and sweet potato was better but nothing to write home about. Crust on chicken was wet. Nothing close to crispy. Collards and sweet potatoes were good. We’re seated next to the waiters station at the bar. Overpriced for what you get. Won’t be back. Look elsewhere.
Decided to this place out with friends to celebrate my birthday. The food I had was the duck dumplings which was barely warm, and the shrimp and grits was nice. My friends asked the waitress if they do anything for birthdays. She said they put a candle and assumed she wasn’t charging me for the tort but she did. We all had appetizers, entrees, drinks and desserts and I expected that could have been taken care of for the occasion after all the money we spent. It’s just the principle.
I'm not sure where to start. It was a nightmare to find, traffic was bottlenecked both ways due to the slow valet parking. Then we couldn't eat outside bc we didn't request outside when me made the reservation. However they didn't ask either. A nasty man waiter with NO PERSONALITY waited on us. We never got a refill on the water. The Ceasar salad had a very strange taste but was great compared to the meals we ordered. My friend got a vegetable plate which is pictured above and I got the pork tenderloin plate which is also pictured above. I ordered a side of corn pudding which looked like corn bread. And speaking of Bread, they don't serve any. I grew up in the south and NOTHING we ate reminded us of Southern Cooking. When we ready to leave the waiter did ask if we wanted a to go box and when we refused one, he came back with the ticket on a tiny clipboard and literally THREW it on the table. We were very upset with a $77 bill for bad food bad service. The manager gave us a discount which made the ticket around $55 and all we want to do is throw up. Lucky I had plenty of stomach medicine handy !
