Bidra med feedbackAfter visiting Shuckers many times over the years this place consistently delivers high quality food. Love the free parking for my car or my boat. Huge docks for all size boats. I hear a new awning will accommodate even more diners in all weather!
I enjoy Shuckers because of the music and opportunity to sit back and enjoy the company of friends. The food is not my stuff, but if you like fried and other similar fare; it may be just your thing. A good place to hang out and they bring in good live music.
For an impromptu Key West-style sojourn within an hour’s drive from Fort Lauderdale, the ramshackle Shuckers on the north side of Miami’s 79th Street Causeway is a definite contender. Nothing fancy here, which is what brings to mind charms of the southernmost point. Longnecks are cold, wine by the glass is chilled, angel-hair pasta with shrimp is divine and grouper sandwiches are just fine, especially with those quarter-sized round fries on the side. Shuckers’ aura of seafood shack authenticity (devoid of newfangled tourist trap cutesy-poo despite being next to a hotel) packs powerful appeal, and the atmosphere remains breezy even on steamy summer afternoons, thanks to some well-placed fans near water’s edge. Tables with a sweeping view of the bay are either under roof cover or umbrellas. Timely service is seasoned and friendly, without any silly interruptions of conversation flow. A couple hours here with good company can restore the soul.
The restaurant features numerous TVs with labels indicating which games will be broadcast on each screen. The food is tasty, there are plenty of tables, and the wait times are short. You can grab a drink and take a stroll around the marina's perimeter.
The view is fantastic! The grilled dolphin fingers are incredible, perfectly toasted to perfection.
