Silver City Takeaway - North Ayrshire

The new owner of this restaurant has not lived up to the standards set by the previous owner. The experience was disappointing, not reflecting the high reputation of Silver City that everyone is familiar with.

I haven't been here in a while, but it has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food was just as delicious as ever, but the prices have increased and the portion sizes have almost halved. This means it's not great value for your money, which is why I don't visit very often. It's unfortunate because I used to love coming here.

I paid £30 for 3 meals at this restaurant and was very disappointed with the food. Everything tasted overly sweet, including the salt chilli chicken and chips which seemed to have sugar added to them. The chicken was dry and stringy, and the ginger and spring onions were also extremely sweet. To make matters worse, they did not even offer a complimentary bag of prawn crackers after spending £30. I would suggest going to a different Chinese takeaway instead. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Ordered mushrooms on their own was assured that they were only in garlic sauce, when they turned up there were onions and carrots, husband allergic to onions, phoned the shop was 20 mins on phone explaining that he cannot eat this we ordered them to collect food as no confidence in the food we had received, not very helpful at all, avoid at if I were you shocking service did not want to help whatsoever, we WILL not be a returning customer that should be ashamed of themselves.

Waiting hours for food, put in complaint and management couldn’t care. Food was not cooked properly either
