Cruize Brasserie - North Ayrshire

This place is beautiful, whether it be the staff or food! Service was absolutely fantastic, Jack was brilliant for the 2 days we were here. It was my partners birthday and he got a colleague to bring a special plate at dessert and sing happy birthday!

After a swim at the leisure center, we decided to dine at Cruize Bar Brasserie. Despite the friendly service, we found it to be slow. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but the food was just okay. We were surprised by the expensive prices.

Five of us had dinner at this restaurant and had a very mixed experience. The service at the bar was slow and poor. I ordered the braised beef feather blade, but when I started to eat it, I found it to be spicy which was not stated on the menu. I am unable to eat even mildly spicy food so I sent it back. The manager and chef claimed they couldn't taste any spice and the server asked if I had put salt or pepper on it, which was not helpful. I ended up getting fish and chips instead, but they were disappointing as there was very little fish and too much batter. By the time I received my new dish, my colleagues had finished their meals and I decided to give up on anything else. Two out of the three fish dishes were the same. When I mentioned this to the manager, only one of the dishes was removed from the bill. Although the other main dishes were good, overall it was a poor dining experience in terms of quality and, for two of us, an expensive and unsatisfactory meal. If we stay at the resort again, we will not be dining at this restaurant.

We have been regular visitors at the Auchrannie for a lot of years, we booked dinner for our family; the waitress that served us was very good at her job, however we could not say the same for the two young bar staff, we stood at the bar to be served, we were not acknowledged, they carried on talking between themselves shaking cocktails, yes they were busy but all it takes is for them to acknowledge the person stood at the bar, however we were totally ignored, I found this to be rude and terrible customer service, perhaps the management need to invest in some training. This has been a regular occurrence over the last several visitors with the same staff!

I have always selected Auchrannie as a go to treat. I have lived on Arran for 20+ years and always looked forward to a visit. Not so much this time. My daughter was visiting with her partner and children so we booked this as a last night treat. Unfortunately, we both chose fish chips which were not the best. The batter was quite inedible and contained very little fish. Certainly not white and flaky). Service was fine as staff were very pleasant. In future, I will choose an alternative restaurant venue.
