Bidra med feedbackWe had a fantastic dining experience at Chan Chan. The food was incredible, with generous portions, a wide selection, and delicious flavors. Our top picks were the ceviche and the chocolate bavarois. The Peruvian eatery exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with charming interior decor and intricate wall patterns. The staff was incredibly friendly, providing excellent service and quick food delivery. Thank you, Chan Chan, for a wonderful meal!
Wonderful experience. We did the 3rd banquet and it was lovely. All food was full of flavour and just melted in the mouth! The pork belly is an absolute must! Best I've ever had!!!We were one table of 3, so it seemed to be a quiet night... but it was a Tuesday so that's expected.Service was amazing, so helpful and happy to explain the menu.We all left satisfied, but certainly weren't ready to explode.I would definitely recommend to a friend!
Visited here on date night. I read that restaurant was opened by the same folk from Bocados, so other to be good right? Absolutely!!!Atmosphere is funky and mood lighting on point. Tables for two are quite small? But your sharing the centre plate so I guess you really don't need a heap of room.We order 4 small plates to share. 3 would have been enough, we took half the 4th home. We had Salchipapas: Who knew chips and pork sausages could taste so **** good. So much flavour packed into the sausage without the oil.Jalea mixta: Mixture of calamari fish and prawns done in a crispy batter which hinted fresh lemon. Very tasty. Cooked perfectly.Chicharron de pollo. Deep fried chicken thigh with this amazing bubbly crunchy coating served with this creamy sauce. Chanchito Chifa: Pork Belly. Get in my belly. So tasty with beautiful crispy crackle that wasn't chewy and I could cut it! Maybe a little dry at the bottom but the clear marinade in the bottom of the dish compensated this. Overall super satisfying meal. Cost about $110 for two people including 4 drinks. Not too bad. Would definitely go back. The food is really good. The service is prompt and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Having spent a couple of years living in South America this is a great treat for me. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the place was jammed on saturday night. Make sure you try the ceviche, the pork belly, the empanadas and some salchipapas amongst a plethora of other dishes. So tasty. Wash it all down with a cusqueña and you have a perfect Peruvian experience.
I consider myself fortunate to have discovered this hidden gem in Newcastle! The staff were incredibly friendly and our waiter suggested a delightful sparkling wine from Argentina that perfectly matched our tastes (dry with a lovely flavor). We opted for the Machu Pichu banquet and each course was superb! It was difficult to choose a favorite, though the ceviche received the most praise. We left feeling satisfied and everyone in our party agreed that we would definitely return in the future.
