Vegan Planet Cafe - Norfolk

This cute little place promotes its chicken sandwich as best in the world so I had to try. It may have been the best. Prepared with love and a side of Rasta pasta and alkaline water. Wonderful pickles in the sandwich. Rasta schmack (mac cheese) has some zest. My lunch mate ordered the Cajun mushroom pita and ate every crumb. Seating is limited and it would be great to have shade for the outdoor tables. All around a little gem.

Food was great, fries especially good. Didn’t look like enough food with hungry eyes, but felt full by the end! Smaller operation so there may be a wait.

One of their signs says “best burger on the planet.” This is not an exaggeration. The bun is super soft, the patty hearty, the pickles crunchy. So so so yummy. I got the oxtail and it’s a HEARTY portion. Little spice is refreshing. Very cozy.

We enjoyed the vibe and the selections. Books even! VEGAN.. everything... I had the winner dinner of the chicken sandwich. Basic bun but all the sauces......on spot! Mushrooms on a pita... blackened yes! No combo needed.. just the basic dish is good for one lunch!

Have to re-write and lower my rating for this place. Ordered from there on Saturday, and got a wrong order. Tried again tonight through Uber Eats.. ordered two cheesesteak sub combos, one with sweet potato fries and one with peas and rice. Also an order of Rasta Schmack… received two Cajun mushroom pitas, one with sweet potato fries, one with Rasta schmack and an order of what appears to be spiced cabbage. Very disappointing. Two orders in 3 days that were incorrect. Updated from previous review on 2023-07-17
