All about Captain Groovy's is done with excellence. From the freshly shocked oysters to the perfectly damped shells for appetizers. The half-salate is regarded as a whole salad in most places. They had Mac and Crab and it was delicious. The drinks were cold and the service was great. Fried shrimps were perfectly cooked. This is one of these treasures in Norfolk.

We had a delicious lunch. With their incredible home made onion rings, crisp delicate batter, perfect seasoning. THE BEST ONION RINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN! All the food was completely delicious. Even having a waitress who didn't like us couldn't ruin the experience.

A couple I met led me to Captain Groovy's and I'm so glad they did as my food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The egg roll appetizer w/ the scratched greens in them are so unique and full of tasty? Taste, my braided beef ribs melted in my mouth. Cool atmosphere, good price points and good service. This place was definitely added to my favorites and will be visited when I am in VA Beach!!

The fried and raw oysters were outstanding! $2 red strip and $4 Frogman! Our server Jennifer was the best!

We came for a nice dinner to do a celebration dinner for my sister. The restaurant wasn?t too busy. When we walked in we weren?t greeted. After a min they sat us down inside- didn?t give us a choice if we wanted inside or out. Food came out pretty quick- we had to ask for refill on water and no condiments were provided to us we had to grab them our self?s.
