RSL Bistro - NORFOLK ISLAND

This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy food and drinks. The Wifi is reliable, the meals were delicious, and I would definitely return. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant in a location with many dining options. I have been here for almost a week and found this establishment to be very cozy and welcoming.

During our first evening on the island, we opted to dine at the RSL for their Sunday Roast. Unfortunately, the meat was too tough to eat. On a positive note, the staff were extremely friendly.

Well below average for the traditional Sunday roast dinner we had been looking forward to. At $32 per serve it was very underwhelming. The two small thinly sliced pieces of roast beef sat on top of roast veggies. The veggies were mainly locally grown pumpkin which was nice. We asked to speak to the chef about the size and quality of the meal and eventually she came out, shook her head and told the young waiter to put another bit of meat on the plate! A new meal came out and it was a little better than the original one. Over rated bistro which we wouldn't return to. Very disappointing for an RSL club.

Reasonable price, fresh food. Value for money! We ordered the scotch fillet, a good portion, and sufficient salad. We requested for the sauce not pouring onto the chips and the kitchen obliged, very happy!

Unfortunately not a great experience. There were four of us. Two of us had the fish and chips, one had a Caesar salad and the other a T-Bone steak. The steak was the best of the meals. The fish was rubbery, the Caesar salad had nothing that makes it a Caesar salad. The staff were lovely, but let down by the food.
