Agriturismo Canalicchio

Great experience. Fabulous visit to the canteen, lots of salami, Soppresatto and cheese samples plus res wine, all tasting fantastic. Highly recommended

Went to this agriturismo with my parents and must say from the first encounter with the owner that greeted us with traditional soppresata to cheeses with chestnut honey and various jams and of course the 7 course meal that truly delighted with authentic and delicious food. The views are truly breathtaking as it is perched on a hill side and you can see the sea and mountains. The owner Mr. Curcio attended to us to ensure everything was perfect!!

Driving down the stunning coastline from Paestum towards Sicily, when we were ready to look for accomodation, we decided to call a number on a sign advertising Agrituristica Canalicchio in the town of Nocera Terinese in the region of Calabria. We followed the signs for a 20 minute drive up into the hills behind the town with sweeping views of the Mediteranean. Canalicchio is a villa with clean, comfortable rooms with your own bathroom and balcony overlooking the hills and ocean. Canalicchio is also a working farm with vineyards, a few animals and vegetable gardens from which the family makes its own famous sausages, cheeses, wine, jam and herbs. The restuarant can accomodate many people and is often booked for weddings and other special events. We were presented with wine, and samples of the sausage and cheese made on the premises by the owner. Teresa, the daughter, can speak English and is extremely accomodating and kind. We would highy recommend Canalicchio as a place to spend a few days or even longer if possible.
