Cafe Salvo - Noble Park

I visited the café last week and was amazed by the diverse crowd of people there. A girl caught my eye and graciously invited me to join them for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that lunch was a buffet, featuring roasted potatoes, pumpkins, salad, beef stew (a delicious Kenyan dish), roasted rice, carbonara, spicy chicken wings, and more - all completely free for everyone! There was a donation can on the table, but no one monitored who contributed. The café was a melting pot of cultures, with Africans, Indians, Middle Easterners, Greeks, Muslims, and Sikhs all mingling together. This communal lunch occurs every two weeks and has created a sense of community among the patrons. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. In addition to the free lunch, the café also offered coffees, milkshakes, and donuts or cakes for a donation. This was a new experience for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to return in two weeks.

Amazing coffee, fantastic everything else... I am a regular visitor to this place and always enjoy chatting with locals. Highly recommend coming here for a coffee that is affordable yet of great quality. They even offer fair trade coffee beans. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Café Salvo in Melbourne has the best coffee in town and a fantastic staff! The friendly team is always ready to chat. I recently ordered the best latte I've ever had and a delicious scroll. I visited on a Wednesday at noon and the lunch was fantastic. I highly recommend Café Salvo to everyone for its welcoming atmosphere, delicious coffees, and cakes.

My friends and I often fall into the Cafe Salvo. It has such a great atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and always remember your name. While in most days they do not have much variety in hot food, there is always a selection of cakes and... donuts. You are also happy for you to bring food from other countries and enjoy it with your coffee. There is a toy corner for the kids with a TV and if you ask someone, a movie for you will be small. The milkshakes, coffees and hot chocolate are delicious and because this cafe is run by the Salvation Army, they ask for donations only for everything you order, although there is usual amount that people donate I think is about $2 for every item. If you arrive on Wednesday at noon, 50% are likely to find a buffet with hot Kenyan dishes, which is also just a donation! There is no other place like this, and the word comes out!
