Bidra med feedbackWe had a lovely dining experience at Cicada Lodge. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was great and we loved the styling of the restaurant. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. Tom and Annabel - Katherine Outback Experience
Arghhhh, so wanted to love this place, but just didnt. We visited here as it looked like a fancy place to eat and we were on our honeymoon. We were greeted by being told our table had been taken over and "would you mind standing for 10mins until they leave" (we had also been told on the phone earlier to arrive 15mins early!!) My response was "well no,actually Id rather have a seat and a drink". They did then put us at another table and were very polite about. Other then this comment the staff were very pleasant. Our set menu also included our names, which was a lovely touch. I asked if they could do a mojito, and I was given the best mojito I think Ive ever had, so very impressed, unfortunately when I wanted to order a second, I was told they had run out of ingredients required. The lovely girl did make another suggestion and with some tweeking to suit my tastes,(adding mint) we were able to find another yummy cocktail. The food was pleasant but not fantastic. Each meal was nice but nothing stood out to me as notable. So when you factor in the price that was paid, I wouldn't revisit. At the end of the night, we were given the bill and despite having prepaid, our bill had included the food, easy fix and staff were polite and friendly, but its these little errors that disrupt the experience and fine dining becomes dining. Over all staff were friendly and pleasant, food was nice, and atmosphere was also pleasant. but for the price tag im not convinced its worth it.
The breakfasts were included with the accommodation. Ours was a continental breakfast of yoghurt, freshly-squeezed juice, a croissant, fresh fruit, ham and cheese with an espresso coffee. The quality was good and everyone enjoyed it. We had kids meals served in our room for the children (spag bol & pizza) but my husband and I ate in the restaurant. I thought the wine list could be better. It was pretty simple. The food was good though and different each night. It's a set 3 course meal, not a la carte. I think it was $95/head but this wasn't stated anywhere, which I found strange. Drinks & canapes were served between 6&7pm and were complimentary. There was a large range in the quality of service from good & clearly experienced waiting staff to reasonably clueless but all staff were at least, friendly & pleasant. I gather it's hard to keep staff for long in the middle of NT. Lots of short term tourist visas, as per Uluru. I think they should make their prices more accessible as is the practice in just about every other restaurant, set menu or otherwise.
We decided to splurge for Dinner on our last night in Nitmiluk and booked in for dinner at Cicada Lodge after reading good things about it.One thing to be aware of it is a set 3 course menu and there are no choices for any of the courses which for the price your would have expected at least a choice of 2 for each course.Unfortunately despite the great setting to food just missed the mark especially the Duck which was tough and grey and well over cooked. The bar staff also really didn’t have any idea. We asked for an Aperol Spritz as they had Aperol on the drinks list and as they apparently only had what was left in the bottle one glass tasted like straight Aperol and nothing else and the other was let down with water. No Prosecco or Soda Water to be found. Overall disappointing.
